Guided hikes in the province of Granada

Granada is so much more than just the Alhambra. If you are here for a number of days, you will have plenty of time to visit the amazing places that the province of Granada has to offer. One of the best way to explore is to join an organised hiking tour. Transport is not included but it is normally possible to catch a bus to the starting point or book a taxi (click here for more info). You will need to book your places on the excursions in advance as numbers will determine whether they take place or not.

This guided hike is great for families. You will walk along the acequias (water channels) of Güéjar Sierra that irrigate the local farming land and also visit the town. The walk will end with a tasting of local produce (not included).

Sierra Nevada - Laguna de las Yeguas/Lagunillos de la Virgen: hiking

This guided hike starts at 2,500 metres and explores the Sierra Nevada outside the ski season. You will walk up to the Laguna de las Yeguas and the Lagunillos de la Virgen. Along the hike, you will see waterfalls, rivers and different types of scenery and there are fantastic views of the mountains.

This guided hike starts at an altitude of 2500m. The first part of the walk is linear and not too strenuous and the second is slightly steeper. There are spectacular views of the highest Sierra Nevada peaks and you will encounter a high-mountain waterfall, an old observatory and the famous Virgen de las Nieves monument .

This guided hike is one of the most popular routes in the Sierra Nevada national park. The guide will tell you about the history and local wildlife and you will have some fantastic views of Mulhacén and the highest peaks.

On this guided hike you will walk along the Río Monachil and through the Canyon of the Calahorros. This route has spectacular views of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, waterfalls and hanging bridges. It is a fun route and great for children.

This guided hike starts at an altitude of 2500m to walk up to Mulhacén, the highest peak of the Sierra Nevada. From the top, you will have fabulous views of Granada, Almería and the sea on a clear day.
