The food is good we recommend it

The MESÓN DEL TRILLO, is situated right in the centre of the Albaicín near to the well known 16th century Aljibe de Trillo. (An Aljibe is an Arabic water cistern).

A "trillo" is a type of sledge encrusted with stones which used to be dragged over the ripe grain by donkeys or mules in order to separate the grains from the straw. See the photo on the right.

VICKY, the owner, has transformed her "Carmen" (a garden in the Albaicín with views of the Alhambra) into a charming rustic restaurant. If you are looking for peace and quiet accompanied by good food this is the perfect place.

The ideal place to eat in this restaurant is in the garden surrounded by flowers and foliage. However the interior is also very tastefully decorated.

The average price per head for a fixed menu is around 3000 pesetas (18 euros).

This part of the Albaicín has no car access only the typical cobblestone streets. To get to us you will have to walk for a few minutes, but of course this is a very attractive place to take a stroll. To help you find us we have made a map which you can print out and bring with you. If you bring a copy of the map you will be invited to a free drink with your meal. Click here to go to the map
