Good things about accomodation:Absolutely quaint, charming historical home. Very comfortable, good bed mattress, and fabulous, dreamy views of the Alhambra from the balcony terrace and 360 view from the rooftop terrace. Exquisitely peaceful, tucked among narrow old cobblestone streets, with flowers and greenery cascading down stone walls and over wrought iron balconies. Close to local buses, lively plazas, restaurants, pastry shop, etc.
Complaints about accomodation:If internet is important (as it was for us) the connection is very weak and unstable. But the hosts were very helpful and gave us access so we could reset the router (internet box) as needed. Still, it was a bit frustrating.
Suggestions:Get the local bus travel card. Very convenient and saves money. Though you do have to recharge in 5 euro increments, it's great value and on our last bus ride, we got our 2 euro refund for the card. Being at the Alhambra when it first opens in the early morning light is breath taking. The ticket allows you to visit different sections of the Alhambra. After any section, you can LEAVE the complex for lunch or whatever then return to visit the remaining sections. Except for Nasrid Palace which has a FIXED time entry. This way we spent the whole day at the Alhambra.

Good things about accomodation:The location is great! You have a perfect view over the city and the Alhambra, spectacular by night and day! Also, there are three different terraces/balconies to choose from, so sometimes you might feel like you don't even want to leave the property!
Good bars and restaurants:Of course the Alhambra is a must-see, but there's lots of nice places in Granada, for example a walk through the Albaicin or San Anton, or up to Sacromonte. The Mirador San Miguel has even better views and is just around the corner.

Good things about accomodation:The garden was lovely and we enjoyed it very much
Good bars and restaurants:The Alhambra of course-this was excellent.
Bad experiences in Granada:A minor complaint , the smell of smoke was very evident. I would ensure that the cleaning staff NOT smoke in the house.

Good things about accomodation:We stayed 2 nights in Casas Luis: Adelfa with our friends, we were a party of 4 adults, two married couples in their 70s. Everything was perfect. We were met at the accommodation by a very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful owner, who after showing us the house, took us on an interesting and useful tour of the local barrio. It is a well located apartment. Sadly we were only there for a couple of days but we plan to return and would be very pleased to stay in Casas San Luis again.
Complaints about accomodation:No complaints, it was very enjoyable. However, one suggestion: Handrails on the narrow, steep staircases would be of great help to the more elderly.
Suggestions:If you are travelling to Granada by car it really does make sense to park in the car park suggested and move around the city by taxi and excellent bus service.

Good things about accomodation:Neighbourhood, pleasant owner, free towels and sheets, free lemons from the tree in the garden, basic and beautiful house, quietness at night.
Complaints about accomodation:No! Perfect
Good bars and restaurants:The arabic restaurant near maridor st. nicolas, a walk in the Sierra Nevada at Monachil, every day strong and cheap coffee and breakfast in bars in the Albaycin.
Suggestions:Go to the Alhambra in the afternoon/evening! Rather quiet. And go several times.

Good things about accomodation:This is a very nice small cottage, along of the hillside (but not troglodytic), in the back of the garden. The woodwork of windows are superb. Brick staircase. Indoor and outdoor fountain. Almost like a parador The ALBAICIN neighborhood is very picturesque . the narrow streets are very well lighted. The small shops and pubs are within 3 minutes walk away.
Complaints about accomodation:there is only a microwave, no oven. Use the barbecue in the garden, or the fireplace the lock is hard enough, and rotates in reverse. When you turn the key quickly, the door opens
Good bars and restaurants:we recommend the restaurant "puerta de las pesas", near the door of the same name on the ramparts
Suggestions:the paving of the streets of this neighborhood is small pebbles: Avoid thin soles and sneakers In the evening in april, the house is fresh enough: If you are cold, consider making a fire in the fireplace.

Good things about accomodation:Casa Rosa is like Granada - both are great, and no photo can really show it. The best place we have stayed at ever! Eva and Paul are fantastic hosts! Best regards!
Good bars and restaurants:Semana Santa. Flamenco at Le Chien Andalou.
Suggestions:Do not plan anything - just get lost in the city. Choose a different place if you do not like walking ;-) Good shoes are a must!

Good things about accomodation:The Rosa house is a wonderful holydays house with garden, a little kitchen and a beautiful bedroom with "terraza" to read, play and enjoy a fantastic vue on Alhambra. The Albaicin is like a village. Our daughters and us really loved these place.
Good bars and restaurants:We love the street "Saint Georges" with stairs in Albaicin with restaurant and bars, we love too the "Plaza larga" 3 mn from the house: it's like a village in the city to buy bread, fruits,a drink or cookies in a cheap place. Granada is very well located, we went once to the sea and had a walk in the Alpujarras.

Good things about accomodation:We had a really enjoyable 5 day stay. The house provides an easily accessible quiet and pleasant retreat. We really liked the Albaicin. Access to the main town was about 20 minutes on foot but for the less agile the C2 bus was easy.
Complaints about accomodation:Overall we really liked the house. A new lick of paint would improve it however.
Good bars and restaurants:Liked restaurant Aixa in Plaza Larga.
Bad experiences in Granada:In general less expensive than we had expected. We seemed to be continually undercharged in restaurants !
Suggestions:Alhambra a must but buy your tickets well in advance. We were able to park close to the house for our whole stay.

Good things about accomodation:Really lovely accommodation; the peaceful garden and views of Alhambra and Sierra Nevada from the top floor a big bonus.
Good bars and restaurants:We recommend Le Chien Andalou for an excellent flamenco show
Suggestions:It was not clear from the literature that you can park free near the accommodation, either beyond the rising bollards on via San Luis, or by the house within the Albaicin zone, so long as you enter/leave at night or afternoon.
Granadainfo comments:Yes, you can park for free within 250 metres of the house and if you are lucky you can park right next to the house.

Good things about accomodation:The place was fantastically situated: above most of Albaicín and right next to the fields on top of the hills. The houses were clean and the reception was friendly, with guidance to all the essential services in the neighbourhood. Very tranquil environment and a great view to Alhambra. Not, however, suitable for people who are not fit or willing to walk up and down the stony streets and alleys (or take a taxi).
Good bars and restaurants:For those who want to see non-touristic flamenco: Chien andaluz (Carrera del Darro), and Casa del arte flamenco (Cuesta de Gomérez).

Good things about accomodation:The house is actually nicer and more welcoming than on the pictures, and it is very well equipped. The area is really lovely, 5 minutes' walk from Mirador San Nicola and very close to Sacromonte. The walk from the city center, though very pleasant, may seem a bit long for some, as the way back is quite steep, but buses stop nearby. Everything was made easy for our stay, which we enjoyed very much.

Good things about accomodation:Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Albacion area is very unique. Enjoyed walking the streets, both narrow and wide.
Complaints about accomodation:We had some issues with the showers. Also it would be a good idea if hand rails were added to the stairs. Otherwise it was great.
Good bars and restaurants:The visit to the Alhambra was wonderful. Used a private tour company for the visit.
Suggestions:We hated to leave.

Good things about accomodation:The house is wonderful, it had pretty much everything we needed. we really enjoyed the rooftop terrace with its views of the Alhahmbra in the evenings. The Albayzin is a really lovely place to stay in, lots of picturesque little streets and wonderful views. It also has a large number of tapas bars that you can enjoy.
Complaints about accomodation:The house was lovely and the kitchen generally well fitted, but there was only one not-very-sharp knife for chopping vegetables and such. Not a complaint at all, more of a comment. If you arrive on the airport bus and you think it will be easy to walk to the house, don't. It's steep. Just follow the very useful instructions on the website and get the bus, or a taxi.
Good bars and restaurants:There is also an amazing Morrocan restaurant, Restaurante Meknes-Rahma http://granadamap.com/mrahma/

Good things about accomodation:Big enough and cosy for two people, nice terrace on top of the house with view to Alhambra
Complaints about accomodation:the lights in the saloon had been a little bit to dark
Good bars and restaurants:the restaurant at plaza Aliatar, near the office of Albayzin (on the corner)and the bar Marvi (best and cheapest breakfast in town and very authentic)in Calle Panaderos
Bad experiences in Granada:Personnel at the airport, Vueling Airline, incompetent, unfriendly, no English speaking, a shame for a tourist region!!! All the other spanish people were very helpful and friendly!!!!

Complaints about accomodation:Not much you can do about the screaming motorcycles and car traffic noise. Friendly reception from Eva. Not enough towels for four people. No instructions for the heating/cooling units. Good internet connection. English TV stations appreciated. Nice view and patio, although the cheap plastic patio table dumped the contents of any beverage if barely nudged. Lots of space for the money.

Good things about accomodation:The property owners were very accommodating and helpful, we arrived very late after 11.00pm and they gave us a mini walking tour of the area so Thank you Eva
Complaints about accomodation:None, the place was all we expected in A GREAT LOCATION
Good bars and restaurants:the Flamenco show at Jardines de Zoraya, in the Albayzin was great and the food very good as well. The Restaurant Arrayanes, in the Albayzin area, had great food, the owner Mustafa was unbelievably friendly and accomodating, he also gave us tips as to different areas to visit in town.
Suggestions:Granada is a place to visit by foot, have good walking shoes and walk everywhere, each street has some charm and hidden treasures. Buy Tickets ahead of time to visit the Alhambra via the internet

Good things about accomodation:the casa rosa was very typical (fountain in the garden, table...). The roof terrace was excellent and the views of Alhambra marvellous.

Room or apartment: Rosa
Good things about accomodation:We loved the house in Albaycin, the layout of the rooms, the garden patio, balcony from our bedroom, the breathtaking view of Alhambra from the roof terrace. We wanted didn't want to come home.
Complaints about accomodation:Only that it would have been helpful to include the Granada bus route-plan in the accommodation's information pack.
Good bars and restaurants:The people are friendly and the food in general is good and reasonably priced, not to mention the variety of free tapas with drinks. The meal we paid most for was mediocre. The Flamenco shows in Sacromonte are excellent entertainment, and they can fairly pack-em-in. The competition is clearly fierce and if the performances aren't up to standard the venues simply won't survive. Another excellent venue is Le Chien Andalou, a small music bar on Calle Carrera de Darro, right beneath Alhambra beside the river Darro. The Alhambra itself is sensory overload, stunning! Can't wait to return.
Suggestions:There are remarks in guide books advising not to walk around Albaycin or Sacromonte at night. We walked everywhere without a hint of danger

Good things about accomodation:We really enjoyed our stay in Granada which is really a beautiful city. The accomodation was really nice and we would have liked to stay a whole week!

Good things about accomodation:The view from the roof terrace was wonderful; we sat up there for breakfast every morning.
Complaints about accomodation:I think it would have been useful to have a map of the area close to the house, with the nearest shops marked on it, because although Eva showed us around we could not find the shops again and had to carry our shopping all the way up the hill
Bad experiences in Granada:The dog owners of the Albaicin do not appear very responsible, as dogs wandered around unaccompanied, messing everywhere.
Granadainfo comments:If you ask people in the street they also could tell you where the shops are. "Tienda" means shop and "supermercado" is supermarket.

Good things about accomodation:The house is charming, and the patio is quiet and restufl. Being able to pick figs and fruit from the trees was wonderful. Location is terrific. We made good use of the market which is so close and the many small shops for bread, cheese, meat...delicious. Easy walk to the bus.
Complaints about accomodation:We loved the house. It would be wonderful to have an oven, but the outdoor grill is great for many I'm sure. One or two good frying pans would be nice, since there is only the stove top.
Good bars and restaurants:All the restaurants in the area were good. We particularly liked Caracoles in the square. We had a very good meal at the flamenco restaurant near the church. The Arab baths were restful. And I would strongly recommend two visits to the Alhambra, one during the day and definitely one at night.
Bad experiences in Granada:We had no bad experiences. We loved Granada. All the people were charming and helpful. And we were so comfortable in the apt, we would have stayed for additional days if I could have changed our train tickets. We had a small problem with the gas heater, but when we called for help the house manager came and took care of it promptly.

Good things about accomodation:The situation of the house in Albaizin is perfect - in a quiet street but within minutes of bars, restaurants, small shops and a market. The area has a real buzz about it.It is also only a 15-20 minute walk into the main part of the city. The interior of the house has been tastefully modernised without losing any of the character or original features. Bathroom and shower provision is more than generous. The garden is an absolute haven, with fruit trees and scented shrubs, and the views are tremendous. Another real bonus is the newly built barbecue. The directions to the house were spot on and we found it no bother.
Complaints about accomodation:It would be good to have a DVD player to cater for visitors who don't speak Spanish and therefore can't enjoy the TV
Good bars and restaurants: The Flamenco Museum in Sacromonte is also interesting. The Aixa Restaurant in Albaizin consistently provided good value, quality tapas.
Bad experiences in Granada:None at all. We were stunned by the good value wherever we went. The free tapas in all the bars were a treat and taxi prices were incredibly low complared to the UK.
Suggestions:Although we travelled to Granada by car, we did not use it once during our stay. The buses are frequent, but we didn't even use them, since there were four of us and the taxis worked out even cheaper. We enjoyed walking down from Albayzin to the city centre, then never had any difficulty in finding a taxi for the uphill return.

Good things about accomodation:Great accomodation. Loved being able to sit in the garden and eat a grapefruit I´d just picked. Wonderful to have the view of the Alhambra.
Complaints about accomodation:It seemed far away when we arrived but it is well located for the shops etc around Plaza Larga.
Good bars and restaurants:The Flamenco Zoraya restaurant was touristy but was a really easy way to see some Flamenco, with our children being only a 5 minute walk from the house.
Suggestions:The visit to the Alhambra was a long day for us and it was lovely to stop at the fancy Hotel in the middle for drinks and snacks. The cost was easily balanced by being able to cook a simple dinner that night back at the house (instead of having to go out as we would have if we were staying at a hotel).

Good things about accomodation:The situation of the house is fantastic, right in the Albycin and just a short walk from San Nicolas square, where you can watch the sun set over the Alhambra palace; beautiful. The house has a lovely garden and everything you could want for an authentic Albycin experience. It is near the Sacremonte so you can walk to the Gypsy Flamenco shows in the Caves. The markets and shops closeby had everything we wanted, it was delight to shop and cook for such fresh local spanish produce.
Complaints about accomodation:No, it was wonderful
Good bars and restaurants:We only experienced excellent service and superb food & wine. The children especially loved the Spanish cuisine, just wonderful.
Bad experiences in Granada:The only problem is that dog owners do not pick up their dogs poo, they just leave it right on the pavements and allyways through the Albycin. Walking home in the dark at night with children means that inevitably one or all of your party will tread in dog poo a some stage, very umpleasant, a health hazard and quite disgusting so beware!
