The apartment is in the centre of modern Granada. Granada is not a big city and it is with easy walking from all the principal attractions such as the cathedral, the Alhambra etc. There are plenty of shops, churches, little squares, fountains, tapas bars etc. You could consider that the Puerta Real is the centre of Granada and it is 5 minutes walking from there. If you are paranoid about safety, this area is considered to be very safe.
