Good things about accomodation:Perfect location, excellent views; the apartment itself was bright, extremely clean and well equipped. Salvador was fantastic; even going so far as to help us take our luggage to Plaza Nueva when we left. Would definitely recommend it to others, and will stay again next time I'm in Granada
Complaints about accomodation:There are a lot of stairs to get to Aixa 6, so it might not be suitable for people with mobility issues
Good bars and restaurants:Siloé Bar & Grill next to the Cathedral was one of the best meals we had while in Spain

Room or apartment: Aixa 4
Good things about accomodation:The Aixa 4 Apartment was excellent! Perfectly located; about 2 blocks from the Catedral bus stop. A quick easy 2 minute walk from the Plaza Nueva. Exactly as the photos showed on the website. Very clean, extremely comfortable beds and pillows, well equipped kitchen for cooking anything, modern and clean bathrooms with good showers and even a hairdryer. Could not have been more comfortable. Even used the well functioning heating system a couple of evenings as we were there at end of November and it was chilly.
Complaints about accomodation:The wifi service is spotty for some devices. My husband's and daughter's phones had great service throughout the week. My phone (same make as my daughter's) and my Ipad had sketchy service for 1 day and nothing the rest of the time. Couldn't figure that one out...
Good bars and restaurants:The Alhambra, of course, is not to be missed. Simply breathtaking. Great hike up to the Mirador de San Nicolas through the Albaicin. Completely enjoyed the walk and the views of the quaint narrow streets and nicely appointed old Andalucian homes with their beautiful doors. The vista at the top is magnificent! Not only of the Alhambra from a different vantage point but of the Catedral and all of Granada, new and old, laid out before ones eyes! Not to be missed. Saw flamenco at La Casa del Arte del Flamenco on Cuesta Gomerez, around the corner from the apartment. Not like going to Sacramonte, but we wanted more of "a performance". Spectacular choice! Intimate theater of maybe a 50 person capacity. Went on a Thursday eve 1st performance. Dance, song and guitar were fabulous. Even allowed photos at the end during the final number. Terrific tapas and ambience at Bodega Castaneda off of Calle Elvira. Wasn't sure what to order from the menu so the waiters made selections for us to share and we could not have been more pleased. Visited twice and loved it! Highly recommend!
Suggestions:Water in Granada is great right from the tap. When visiting a restaurant don't forget to ask for agua en vaso (in a glass) or you'll get charged each time for unnecessary bottled water.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was excellent, the location superb, the pick-up was smooth and everything was great. We were particularly grateful for the way you made it possible for us to leave our luggage at the apartment for longer so that we could just pick it up and go once we'd finished visiting the Alhambra - this was GREATLY appreciated!
Complaints about accomodation:No complaints - it was all wonderful.

Good things about accomodation:the apartment location and décor were amazing! we loved it and only wish we could have stayed for a full week.
Complaints about accomodation:only thing I would tell people is that there are quite a lot of stairs to climb to get to the apartment, but they are not difficult. our family had no problem at all because we are fit, but some older people with knee or heart problems should know about the stairs.
Bad experiences in Granada:no, not at all. everyone and every place we went to was so clean, organized and friendly

Good things about accomodation:Granada and Barcelona are our favorite cities to visit in Spain. Our stay at the Aixa apartments made our stay even more enjoyable. Perfect location, gorgeous rooftop terrace, spacious, clean, well-equipped, comfortable and well-staffed.
Good bars and restaurants:The small cafe on the terrace beneath the Aixa Apartments, besides being incredibly convenient, proved to have the best meal of our stay in Granada. The woman working there was very friendly. We had a long dinner and enjoyed watching the people walk along the river.

Good things about accomodation:Having two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and being so centrally located was fantastic! We were so close to the bars, restaurants and shops, it made the stay that little bit easier.
Good bars and restaurants:We were in Granada to attended a wedding. Granada is a great place to get married, I would definitely recommend it.
Suggestions:Visit the Hammam, which is next door to the Aixa Apartments. I was not able to visit the Hammam on this trip but have been on previous trips. Explore the city and try the tapas bars and restaurants that are off the main Plazas, you won't be disappointed.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment had stunning views, and the location was fantastic: close to the Plaza Neuva but far away enough to be quiet at night.
Complaints about accomodation:The heater had a difficult time keeping up with the cold snap that hit Granada as we arrived; though the cold weather was pretty unseasonable. The internet connection was slow, and spotty at times.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment had stunning views, and the location was fantastic: close to the Plaza Neuva but far away enough to be quiet at night. It was an easy walk into the Albacin and also to shopping.
Complaints about accomodation:The heater had a difficult time keeping up with the cold snap that hit Granada as we arrived; though the cold weather was pretty unseasonable. The internet connection was slow, and spotty at times.
Good bars and restaurants:We loved Los Diamantes and Bodega Castanedas for tapas. And we also loved the Bunuelos stand (little fried donuts topped with chocolate)! We took a train to Ronda one day, and spent a day in Cordoba via the bus. We'd recommend both of these places, and they are each easy day trips, within a couple hours of Granada.

Good things about accomodation:The accomadation is situted in a very good position having stayed in Granada 4 times The advice from John ref parking and directions were first class. The accomadation is better than the Puert Real Apartments My only complaint was arriving at 11pm the 3 beds made up were fine if there was a couple amongst the party but there were only males who did not know each other very well.
Complaints about accomodation:An electric kettle was our only complaint about the kitchen area

Rating: Very good
Room or apartment: Aixa 5
Good things about accomodation:I liked that the accommodation was clean, attractive, and functional. The owners were responsive to our needs (although we needed to borrow a phone to get in touch with them) The location was ideal...central to the bus, tourism office and kiosk, main plazas, Cathedral, stores and restaurants.
Complaints about accomodation:The apartment should have a telephone for local calls, both to be able to reach the managing staff in Granada and more importantly, to be able to get help in an emergency. One or two TV stations in English, such as BBC, would have been nice.
Good bars and restaurants:Kebab King is a delicious, nutritious and inexpensive place to sit and eat or for take out (para llevar) Babel on Elvira Street is great and affordable place for tapas.
Suggestions:Buy a cell phone for 20 Euros as soon as you get there. It's necessary to contact management, get tourist information, make restaurant reservations and in any emergency. Get maps at the tourism office. You will need them to find your way around. Wear good walking shoes. The area is quite hilly. Check the hours places are open before making plans. It's quite variable. Don't go to restaurants when you're "starving" as service can be extremely slow. On the positive side, you will never feel rushed to leave. You must be assertive in Spain...ask many questions, ask for your check, etc. Polite, but assertive! Thanks

Good things about accomodation:The location was fabulous and the apartment was comfortable, well supplied, and convenient. The management contacts (Manuel, Eric, and Amaya) were responsive and helpful. The terrace was great in the morning and evening with a wonderful view of Albycin and Sacramonte.
Complaints about accomodation:The internet access was inconsistent. This was a problem with all of our computers in all of the 4 units that my family rented.
Good bars and restaurants:We had a wonderful experience with Spanish language school at Castila-Granada, Our Spanish speaking skills improved dramatically in a short time under the guidance of a wonderful faculty. School activities were scheduled every evening and lead by one of our professors. Most restaurants and bars were great for tapas in the Paza Nueva and Albycin areas Especially enjoyed El Trillo de la Reca where we hosted a large reception in their lovely garden courtyard. Another highlight was the paella and tapas at Taverna Salinas

Good things about accomodation:It was really nice to stay in an apartment as opposed to a hotel. It really gives you a feel for living in the city.
Good bars and restaurants:Go the Alhambra in the morning before it gets too hot (summer). Be sure to walk through the Albaicin to the Plaza Mirador de San Nicolas during the day, but also at night. The views are amazing and very worth the walk (or take the bus).

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was extremely comfortable. The location was great. I would definitely recommend this accommodation. I also appreciated the introduction to the apartment and surrounding area. This is one of the few places in Spain that we have received such an hospitable welcoming.
Good bars and restaurants:The Alhambra was a highlight as was watching the sun set over the alhambra from the famous lookout. We also did a walking tour of the city which was quite interesting. If you have some extra time I would also recommend leaving the city. We did an organised olive oil tour which was quite interesting.

Good things about accomodation:The staff were so very professional and friendly making our stay extra special. Thank you for that important aspect which we never encountered anywhere in the world.
Complaints about accomodation:Loved the apt especially the deck and cooler area downstairs. A dishwasher would be good instead of a washing machine.
Good bars and restaurants:For my birthday we went to the awe inspiring Estrellas restaurant on the deck with the fireworks and amazing food especially my "Exotica" starter! The romantic french owner/chef? treated us to champagne with dessert for my birthday which added to the already fab service. We adored the Flamenco shows getting to two in Sacromonte. And we loved the Alhambra but the best moment for us was definitely the Hammam Baths next door.
Suggestions:Keep up the good service.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment location is just right!.. It is centrally located. Japanese restaurant is right next door. Not noisy at all and you have a good sleep. Hammam bath is a few doors away. Overall a nice and clean place to stay with amazing view!
Complaints about accomodation:No. The place is exactly what you see on the website. It is clean and the view from the rooftop is amazing.. We are right behind alhambra walls..
Good bars and restaurants:For muslims who travel to granada, it is easier to get halal food as there are a few turkish or arab restaurants at plaza neuva..
Suggestions:Shopping is within walking distance.. Since the place is centrally located near the plaza about 300m away, public transport is in easy access as well as restaurant. You just need to walk around the places or take the public bus which is cheap!

Good things about accomodation:Eric, the host, was terrific. When the airline brought our lost bags at 8:00 pm to the edge of downtown, he met the driver for us and waited for us to arrive. The driver was not going to wait, so we were very grateful for Eric's help. The location of th apt was great.
Complaints about accomodation:An invasion of small ants occurred at the end our stay. An exterminator was probably due.
Good bars and restaurants:The science center was great. King kabob on Elvira was ver good. Loved the tapas everywhere. The view from San Nicolas and the visit of the Alhambra was amazing.

Suggestions:Get an This.is Granada audio guide, and explore the city on foot, alot of walking but well worth it.

Good things about accomodation:The location was fantastic and the apartment itself met all our expectations - well designed throughout. It was particularly great for us with young children to be able sit out on the balcony at night and still feel very much 'in the city'. Something again to consider re: the appeal to families with young children as above.
Complaints about accomodation:No child gate at the top of the stairs.
Good bars and restaurants:We ate a couple of evenings in Bodegas Castaneda which was splendid. The Science Park was a real treat, particularly for our 4 year old - we were there virtually all of one day.

We arrived just after the new year and stay in these apartments. so it turned out we got to the heart of the old city. Delight. every morning, with dawn, we watched as the clouds dispersed Castle Alhambra, like the sun wakes up and everything comes to life around him. It was a great pastime. Thank you for your hospitality

Good things about accomodation:The view from the terrace was spectacular. It also gave us, quite unexpectedly, a front row seat for the fireworks on New Year's Eve, which was quite a treat.
Complaints about accomodation:Minor quibbles: an electic coffee maker would have been nice, as would a few kitchen basics such as salt and pepper. Otherwise it was lovely.
Good bars and restaurants:We went to Taberna Salinas (not far from Plaza Nueva) twice and had great experiences both times--but we learned the hard way to get there before 9 pm if you don't want to wait for a table. Also, watching the sun set from the terrace bar just below the El Mirador de San Nicholas was worth the trip all by itself.

Good bars and restaurants:We went to the Baths and had a massage which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had a private tour of the Alhambra which is a good idea if you are with a group of friends.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was probably the best accommodation of our entire 3 weeks in France and Spain. Clean and modern, and the rooftop patio was great! Manuel was awesome! He was always available and willing to help with recommendations for restaurants, shopping, etc. Just wish we had time to buy him a beer before we left.
Complaints about accomodation:No problems or complaints.
Good bars and restaurants:The city is beautiful. We loved just wandering the narrow streets and discovering the sights, sounds and smells (loved the spice vendors!) of Granada. It should go without saying that the Alhambra was amazing.
Suggestions:Don't lose Manuel!! He truly understands and delivers top-notch customer service. As a result of his hospitality and the quality of the apartment we will definitely be recommending this accommodation to everyone.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was modern and comfortable and equipped with everything we needed, except a chopping board! The location was good and it was easy to get around.
Suggestions:We got the Granada Pass, and used it enough to make it worthwhile by going to almost everything. We used the long term car park at Severo Ochoa with no problem. On arrival we walked with our bags to Plaza Nueva which took about 25mins in 35 degree heat - on the way back we used our free bus rides to go up the Gran Via.

Good things about accomodation:Booking via the website is extremely easy and straightforward (this was my second visit to Granada and thus 2nd time of arranging an apartment through the site). The apartment itself was fantastic, modern and fully equipped. I would highly recommend it. The terrace was fabulous and had amazing views. Manuel Lopez who came to meet us was informative, helpful and very friendly (please pass on our thanks). Overall another great experience in Granada.
Complaints about accomodation:The big lampshade in the living area seemed a bit impractical and got in the way when sitting there.
Good bars and restaurants:Restaurante Bodega on Plaza Bib-Rambla No 12 = interesting decor, lovely food, friendly staff.
Suggestions:Same day tickets for the Alhambra are available but you need to arrive early in the morning to obtain them.

Complaints about accomodation:When we were there the first 2 nights very quiet but the last 2 the people above and below very noisy after 10pm dragging chairs furniture on floor and little ones running and screaming until 1230-1am. Please just use this note to maybe ask people to be quiet after 10pm and put sliders/pads on base of furniture so you don't hear the noise.Would return if less noise from other apts.At present apt(Barcelona) if any noise after 10pm you are out.

Good things about accomodation:On the positive side the apartments are well located- the interiors are modern and have clean lines and are well equipped.
Complaints about accomodation:unfortunately we could not stay in apt.6 which we had booked and was our choice because of the lovely terrace as the apartment has serious water leaks. consequently the first night was spent with us trying to dry the bedding and get rid of water on the floors. It was a huge problem for me as an asthmatic and I had to sleep fully clothed in order to not chill down to the room temperature which was almost impossible to raise because of the dampness. We got very little sleep but the next day was spent moving to another apt in the same complex. Manuel was very helpful and accommodating but we missed a ski day and I do feel that the lack of maintenance is an issue. We arrived at 21.30 in the pouring rain to a cold apartment with wet floors. we were tired and in need of a hot drink. It would have been nice if the heating had been turned on and maybe some milk in the fridge as a welcome gesture as it is difficult to get orientated at that hour and having spent the day travelling from Sweden we were tired.
Granadainfo comments:The building is only 8 months old. Granada suffered the wettess coldest conditions it has experienced in the last 10 years. This caused condensation to form on the ceiling which caused some drops to fall onto the floor and the beds. Once Manuel had been informed of this problem in the morning he was on the scene in less than 15 minutes. He also would have been there at any point during the night to solve the problem if he had been contacted. The solution was to give the guests an entirely new apartment in the same building with dry bedroom but also let the guests keep the keys of the original apartment so they could still enjoy the large lounge and terrace. There is a shop open until 12 midnight about 200 metres from the apartments where you can buy milk plus numerous bars and restaurants. For this reason we don't buy milk for the guests. Even if we wanted to buy milk for the guests we would not know which type of milk to buy eg semi-skimmed, skimmed, soya etc. The problem was caused by a blocked ventilation tube. We have also purchased a 3000 euro de-humidifier in case of further problems. It is very important not to put up with any problem - just contact us and we will find a solution. If you don't contact us we can't help you. Granadainfo is happy that the correct procedure was carried out in this case.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was unbelievable in the sense of it's finish. Lovely furniture and designs all round and filled with nice finishing touches giving it a really welcoming, homely feel.
Good bars and restaurants:If you want to have an amazing view of the Granada and unbeatable food, the restaurant "Estrellas de San Nicolas" in the area around the albaicin, the exact address is Calle de la Atarazana Vieja 18010. It is situated right beside a square that has a breathtaking view of the Alhambra at night. The AlhambraBus runs up that direction until approximately 12.30am so it's not costly to get there, and if there's a high-heels wearer in the group it's a must! Be sure to reserve a table if you want a window seat though!
Bad experiences in Granada:There were homeless people around the square outside Santa Ana church near Plaza Nueva, although they are completely harmless, so I don't think this really classifies as a bad experience! it's merely slightly unsightly!
Suggestions:The AlhambraBus is a definite must as it's only 1.20 euro and saves a strenuous walk, the walk down into the city is relaxing though. If arriving by bus, the 3 and 33 buses go to the centre of town from the bus station and cost 1 euro. The closest real supermarket is the Corte Ingles which is about 15 minutes walk away from the apartment, that's if you want to get a proper shop done rather than just odds and ends, in which case there's a small shop in Plaza Nueva 2 minutes from the apartment that caters for all simple necessities! The tourist information office 1 minute walk from the apartment is excellent and it's great to know that any questions you need answered are only 1 minute away! (It shuts around 7.30pm though so make sure you get everything you need to know before dinner!)

Good things about accomodation:The apartment itself was beautiful and had good facilities. The air conditioning was much appreciated. It was also very centrally located. Manuel was helpful and easy to contact.
Complaints about accomodation:There was a problem with the shower. The outlet shifted and this caused water to flood down into the entrance hall. As a result, my friend slipped on the very hard stairs and bruised her back. Manuel and his team were very apologetic and did their best to get the shower mended as soon as possible. However perhaps these things could be checked more carefully in future. One more thing that I found a problem was that the street lights made the apartment very light at night. The blinds were very good at filtering out the sunlight during the day but not at keeping out the artificial light at night. Perhaps some inside blackout blinds could be added.
Good bars and restaurants:We loved the Alhambra and it was worth visiting twice - once in the daytime and a second time at night. There was a lovely restaurant just outside the main entrance and we ate there twice. Allow a lot of time for eating out. There are also some beautifully situated restaurants with a lovely view of the Alhambra if you walk along the road from the Plaza Nueva past the Santa Ana Church, keeping the river to your right. After about 5 minutes the road opens out into a square and it is a lovely place to sit.
Suggestions:Get as much information as possible from the internet before you set off. There are frequent buses but we hardly used them, preferring instead to walk.
Granadainfo comments:We are of course very sorry about the shower incident. The shower has been fully fixed. We have investigated the incident and we are happy the correct procedure was followed. Even without plumbing problems, marble floors can be trecherous with wet feet. I fell down the stairs in my own house once and got badly bruised because I had wet feet after coming out of the shower, it's like walking on ice, now I am very very careful.
The restaurant outside the Alhambra is La Mimbre. The square mentioned is the Paseo de los Tristes and the restaurant must be the Restaurante Azafran

It was very comfortable for our family of four, in a convenient location, and a welcome relief from the heat of the day. Manuel was also very helpful upon arrival.
Good bars and restaurants:Las Cuevas, a few streets up from Plaza Nueva, had excellent Moroccan food and was reasonably priced. Our favorite dishes were the eggplant stuffed with meat, and the lamb tagine. We went twice!
Suggestions:We bought our tickets for the Alhambra in advance. Upon arriving at our time slot, we forgot our receipt. Fortunately, you do not need your receipt to redeem your tickets, just your credit card that you purchased the tickets with and some identification. Good things about accomodation:This apartment was a dream! It was such a pleasant surprise to walk in the apartment and see the nicely designed, light, and neat interior. The terrace view was absolutely amazing. Our trip to Granada was such a treat because of our lodging at the aixa apartment. In addition, Manuel, our apartment host, was so pleasant and helpful. He was eager to provide us with any information we needed or any additional items we needed for our stay. We can't thank him enough for all his help in dealing with a hotel booking agency, on our behalf, to help organize our future plans. If we had had more time, we would have gladly taken Manuel out for a drink to show him our gratitude for his hospitality.
Complaints about accomodation:It would be helpful to provide dish towels or hand towels for the kitchen area. Also a vegetable peeler would be a nice addition to the kitchen utensils. Finally, for the kitchen, a small teapot.
Good bars and restaurants:I would highly recommend a private guided tour of the Alhambra. We found the company via their website and had a fantastic tour of the Alhambra and Generalife: Alhambra.org. As for restaurants, our Alhambra guide mentioned one on Calle Rosario, it was delicious and the service was great! Bar Patio Braserito, C/ Rosario 7, 18009 Granada, Spain 958 221 984.
Bad experiences in Granada:Hmmm...bad experiences in Spain: most of them happened before or after our time in Granada. I would say that the least pleasant part of Granada were the number of cars and buses speeding along Carrera del Darro but there is not much one can do about that. Also, it would be helpful to provide list of the hours of grocery shops, bakeries, and cafes. It is difficult to know when bakeries and grocery stores will open! I understand that places open later in Spain but for an American tourist in need of breakfast items it would be helpful to know business hours.
Suggestions:We will highly recommend the Aixa apartments to the next visitors to Spain. We will also highly recommend visiting Granada as it was in Granada were we had such friendly encounters with Spaniards in the restaurant, touring, and accomodations industries. Our 5 day stay in Granada definitely has the fondest memories of our two weeks in Spain.

Good things about accomodation:The apartments are beautiful!! They are perfectly situated and well decorated. Granada was our favorite city in Spain, with so much character! As many people have said, Manuel was wonderful, and arranged for us to join a group for a Flamenco performance, as well as told us how to get to the Alhambra by bus. We were leaving to Cordoba enroute to Madrid and he helped us try to find a place there to store our bags for the day. He was very kind and accessible.
Complaints about accomodation:Only improvement would be to add an electric coffee pot. Very lovely apartments!
Good bars and restaurants:Just walking around the old town and stopping at various bars, then moving to another.
Bad experiences in Granada:Only once did a store keeper purposely try to short-change me by 10 Euro on a 20 Euro note, thinking I had not noticed.
Suggestions:We were not told about there being a bus from the airport to the city center, which we took (there were six of us).
