Good things about accomodation:Waking up with the view of Alhambra was a pleasant thing for us. Really friendly staff - Amelia, speaks perfect English and was helpful to give us some hints about Granada.
Good bars and restaurants:nice strip of restaurants and pubs along campo del principe
Bad experiences in Granada:Alhambra has really strict entry times. so watch out for what is being stated on the tickets.

Room or apartment: two apartments and a cave
Good things about accomodation:We rented two apartments and a cave and all were very comfortable and well finished. They were perfectly clean and we appreciated the coffee, sugar, oil and sugar which were left for us to use. The location is good with fabulous views of the Alhambra and the city - and only 15 minutes enjoyable walk into the tourist-heart of Granada. We will be back and will be recommending the caves / apartments to our friends.
Good bars and restaurants:The Banos Arabes near to the Plaza Nueva are very relaxing and fun to go to with friends.
Plaza San Nicolas (10 minutes walk) has great views and nice bars for breakfast.
Bad experiences in Granada:Avoid the cake shop in the Plaza Nueva. We were charged 6.90E for a slice of stale cheesecake!
Suggestions:It needs to be made clear to guests that they will be required to leave a 100E deposit per apartment refundable at the end of their stay.

Room or apartment: El Mauror
Good things about accomodation:We stayed in the Mauror apartment. From inside the apartment you cannot see the Alhambra but from the patio, it is perfect. The staff was extremely helpful, extremely polite and very accomodating. If we ever get back to Granada, we would definitely stay there again. We loved the staff and the environment. the view from the patio was awesome with an exceptional view of the Alhambra. Everything was clean and in good condition. I recommend this place to any and everyone.
Complaints about accomodation:No complaints about anything
Good bars and restaurants:You must definitely go the Alhambra and the Albaicin. Check out a Flamenco show at a reputable venue. Shopping is very close and Tapas bars are everywhere.
Bad experiences in Granada:A taxi driver charged us extra for baggage without telling us beforehand. Buses can be overcrowded at times.
Suggestions:Bring cash with you before you get on the plane. There are no exchange offices in the airport. Check with your bank to make sure your card works in Spain.

Room or apartment: Cerro del Sol
Good things about accomodation:Our apartment was excellent value for money and had everything that we needed in it. The fact that it doesn't have a view of the Alhambra like some of the more expensive apartments didn't matter because of the great views from the shared terraces.
The staff were really helpful and gave good advice about the area.
Complaints about accomodation:The fact that the owners ask for a €100 deposit on arrival should be made clearer on the website - we didn't have any problems getting it back at the end of the stay though.
Good bars and restaurants:Many of the bars further up the hill from the accommodation such as those in Plaza Aliatar, the "bbq place" and La Torcuato further up are even friendlier and have even better tapas from those down in town.
The Arab baths behind Plaza Santa Ana are a great experience and a good way to relax into the holiday.
Suggestions:Getting the airport bus is really easy and cheap - worthwhile giving it a go rather than splashing out on a taxi!

Good things about accomodation:These flats were perfect. 5 mins easy walk to the main square & bars to enjoy a nice cold beer.
An amazing view from the flat of Alhambra & the icing on the cake was having a swimming pool which is very rare in Granada.
Suggestions:Avoid Ryanair if possible. It might be a little extra however its worth the money.

Room or apartment: Cueva de Enmedio
Good things about accomodation:The place is really great, nice appartments; such a beautiful view and people welcoming us were so nice...
Bad experiences in Granada:find a supermarket (not a mini mini market) which is close enough to buy foods by foot
Granadainfo comments:The nearest shop is a mini-market but just a bit further is a Coviran supermarket. This appears on the important places map on the homepage. click here to see it

Good things about accomodation:After lights switched off it's very dark, quiet and relaxing. Recommended. Great location withy nice walk downhill to the river, to the centre and Alhambra entrance.
Good bars and restaurants:Go uphill into the old town to experience the non tourist bars and restaurants which are very friendly (and only a short distance away), as well as the same on the river and in more tourist areas.

Room or apartment: Cerro del Sol
Good things about accomodation:The appartment was very clean and functional. The view was fantastic. Despite having to pay extra which I hadn't expected, it was great to be able to stay on and use it on the Sunday afternoon was my neice was tired of sightseeing and the weather was good for using the pool. Laura was incredibly efficient and kind, dashing to town with my credit card which I had left it behind.
Complaints about accomodation:The only thing that might be added could be a butter knife for spreading butter, and maybe some large mugs as well as the cups.
We travelled with hand luggage and didn't bring a computer. It would have been very useful to have the information from the web site available in the appartment for reference.
Good bars and restaurants:The Granada city sightseeing bus isn't one of the best tours I've done with this firm but the fact it's valid for 48 hours is very useful and it really helps you to get your bearings in the city. If you do the trip one day and visit the Alhambra the next you will recognise where you have been when you look down from the Alhambra. You can then use your ticket to get the sightseeing bus back into town.
Bad experiences in Granada:Nothing bad about our experience in Granada at all.
Suggestions:Do bring comfortable walking shoes - trainers or walking sandals are fine. Use the minibuses they are great for getting around when you realise the no 31 is a circular route.. It was very simple getting from the airport by bus. The catch the number 31 and get off at the 4th stop.

Complaints about accomodation:No complaints, we loved the accommodation.
Good bars and restaurants:All the food we had in the Albazin areawas great and very reasonable.
Bad experiences in Granada:We didn't have any bad experiences, only with Ryan Air on the way there!
Suggestions:Thank you, we loved Granada and staying in the cave made our holiday even more special.

Good things about accomodation:The location was beautiful and the people running the apartments were lovely. To walk out every morning and evening to a view of the Alhambra was perfect.
Complaints about accomodation:The shower unit was very difficult to use without spilling water out onto the floor.
Good bars and restaurants:We particularly liked The Minotaur tapas bar off Plaza Nueva.

Room or apartment: Cueva de Poniente
Good things about accomodation:The views were fantastic from the top terrace - a hidden gem! We sat up there every night to watch the sunsets. We only had 3 days in Granada but packed loads in. There is so much to see and do and you need 3 days just to wander around the town and sit in the cafes. So much beautiful art and wonderful buildings. Go and see the Nasrid Queens palace in the Albaicin - a tiny Alhambra without the crowds!
The cave was very tastefully decorated and was a unique experience - we were very upset to leave! We will definately stay there again when we come back and we will defiantely be coming back to Granada!
Complaints about accomodation:Leaving a bottle of mineral water in the fridge would be great!
Good bars and restaurants:The small bar at the bottom of the road held a very authentic free Flamenco evening - well worth a visit.
Also El Piano is great for vegans / vegetarian takeaway (near the St. Jeronimo monastery).
Bad experiences in Granada:We went to the Zoroya Gardens flamenco resturant in the Albaicin and felt it was a tourist trap and the service was awful - to be avoided!
Avoid English food as very overpriced.
Granadainfo comments:The water in Granada is very good and you can drink it from the tap and it comes out cool at any time. There is a link to the Piano here

Room or apartment: Cueva de Poniente
Good things about accomodation:The accommodation was comfortable and well appointed. Staff, in particular were excellent in contributing to the enjoyment of our stay, and were very helpfull in many ways. Please pass on our thanks. The view from the terrace was superb, and the closeness to the Alhambra was very convenient.
Complaints about accomodation:The only problem we found with the cave was in the kitchen area, where the paint above the stove was peeling from the moisture and sometimes fell into our cooking. Perhaps a different type of paint would prevent this.
Good bars and restaurants:Yes, we enjoyed our visit to Jardines de Zoraya very much. The food and service was very good, as was the flamenco. We would love to return there again. (Calle Panaderos 32 - 18010 Granada)
Bad experiences in Granada:Apart from some very expensive poor quality food from restaurants which cater mainly for tourists (along the river with views of the Alhambra) our experience was mainly good. There was also the Meknes Rama Moroccan restaurant on the corner, at the end of the road on which your apartments are located, to which we would not return. The food was very poor quality, and the service unfriendly.

Good things about accomodation:Loved the whole experience - the view from the apartments was fabulous although the climb up for anyone with walking difficulties would be tricky! The terrace and small pool were a bonus. The staff were helpful, the apartment (Sacromonte) was perfect.
Complaints about accomodation:No complaints really apart from the kitchens need a kettle!

Room or apartment: varios
Good things about accomodation:We absolutely loved the 2 appartments where we stayed with a group of friends. Very cosy and lovely interior. Also the space in front of the houses was perfect to sit together in the sun.
Complaints about accomodation:We would have like the swimming pool to be clean for a swim or to sit by (although it was only April and we probably couldn't have swam in it anyway, it was a shame that the water was so dirty).
Bad experiences in Granada:None, people were very pleasant and we had a great stay in Granada.
Suggestions:Book your tickets before you go to the alhambra and avoid dissappointment (as we did, when we just showed up and were confronted with sold out tickets)

Good things about accomodation:I loved the setting - it was unique. The location was wonderful and made my stay in Granada very special. I liked having a small kitchen so I could avoid eating every meal in a restaurant; also it was very relaxing to have a glass of wine by the pool.
Complaints about accomodation:I could not take a shower without getting the floor wet!
