Good things about accomodation:Raul and his family were extremely helpful leading up to and during our stay; they speak some English, so working with them was easy. The main bedroom has two firm mattresses that can be pushed together into one. The second bedroom has a very firm small mattress. The outdoor terrace, accessed through the second bedroom, is beautiful and gives a view of the top of a tower of the Alhambra, as well as great views of the surrounding hills (not Sierra Nevadas) and other beautiful terraces. The bathroom is large and features a nice, but door-less shower. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to clean. The location is clean and safe, a short walk (2 min) up from Paseo de Los Tristes. Overall, this is an excellent property and we hope to stay here again in the future.
Complaints about accomodation:The beds are a bit too firm, but not terrible. The hot water ran out in the shower. The wifi was pretty weak except for in the smaller bedroom. Otherwise, our stay was great.
Good bars and restaurants:Arab baths: The popularity of this attraction was evident in the sold-out bath times that we encountered as we called to schedule a 8 PM visit at 10 AM same-day; we ended up being able to reserve a 10 PM slot. We arrived and were shown the surprisingly pretty changing rooms, from which we entered the main bath rooms. Our host explained that there were 3 baths (cold, warm, and hot), a sauna, a tea-drinking area, a hot stone area, and the massage section. They invited us to enjoy the various areas until they called us for massages, as a couple, later on in our 1.5 hour long bath experience. We hopped between each of the baths and the sauna, enjoying the intense sauna, relaxing hot bath, and romantic medium bath. Then, we were called on for our massages. I opted for a strong, concentrated massage while my girlfriend went with a full-body experience. Although the massages lasted just 15 minutes, we both agreed that it was the best massage experience we'd each ever had. Afterwards, we showered quickly to get the oils off and then enjoyed the baths again for the remainder of the time. We would love to go back, and next time, would possibly opt for the 30 minute massages.
Alhambra: This amazing site speaks for itself. It is worth at least a half day's visit to explore.
Candela: We found Candela while wandering through Rialejo in search of tapas bars away from the crowds flocking to see Semana Santa processions. Its small, home-like feel was very welcoming, and we grabbed a few stools and the bar to order red wine. The tapas, all of which are in the form of delicious-stuff-on-bread, came out quickly and were a fair size to match our cheap but good wine, great sweet wine, and very refreshing vinho tintos. We ended up visiting twice during our 4-night stay. Our favorites were the integrale montaditos con aguacate, tomate, y Manchego fundido (veggie favorite) and bocaditto con jamon, tomate, y Manchego (meat favorite). The staff were all very friendly and attentive. We look forward to our next trip to Granada to go back to Candela!
Bad experiences in Granada:Some of the more popular/touristy tapas bars were very over-priced and rude, but otherwise we were very happy with our stay.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment location was perfect, and we walked pretty much everywhere. The apartment was very quiet, particularly considering how close it is to the restaurants on the Paseo Tristes. Fabiola was very good about meeting us at the taxi and making sure we could find the apartment.
Complaints about accomodation:The apartment itself was excellent, though the air conditioning being only in the one room might be a problem in summer - the apartment temperature was fine in early June when we were there.
Good bars and restaurants:Tthe sights in Granada are easily accessible either near to the centre of town (and easy walking distance) or by the good bus links.
Bad experiences in Granada:No bad experiences. There are very limited vegetarian food options in the restaurants and cafes, however this is true of everywhere we went in Spain.
Suggestions:Vegetarians should find the Campo de Principe supermarket which has a (small) vegetarian section, and the apartment is very well set up to do cooking "at home". Most restaurants are happy to point out their "vegetariano" menu options if you ask but don't be surprised if it amounts to pizza or falafels.

Good things about accomodation:There is microwave! Place is very clean. We wash our clothes. Reminder, bring your own soap and toiletries for personal use, towels as well.
Bad experiences in Granada:Walking uphill and downhill (from the front main gate of apartment to the roadside) everyday throught the cobblestone is quite hard but its a regular joke for us so ... not suitable for disable (wheelchair) and pushing pram up and down is quite a nightmare. We manage as there are 4 of us, so we took turns to carry the pram.
Granadainfo comments:It is about 80 metres of cobblestones

Good things about accomodation:Appreciated:
1. Assistance from Raul & Fabiola.
2. Provision of basic food (eg bread, coffee, milk), because we arrived late in the day.
3. Location of apartment.
Complaints about accomodation:1. The air conditioner (air handling unit) in the main bedroom is noisy, and needs maintenance.
2. There should be an electric kettle (eg for tea-making).
3. The utility knives (black handled) are blunt and need replacing.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment has very nice atmosphere, the terrace has beautiful view to a patio and to Alhambra! The kitchen is perfect, there is even a washing machine. I like the location a lot, Paseo de los tristes is one of the most beautiful places of Granada! PErfect spot to go to Alhambra (cuesta de los chinos) and to Albayzin. We enjoy the stay!
Complaints about accomodation:There is one bedroom with 2 single beds, and one bedroom with a one person sofa bed and a matress on the floor. In my opinion this was not clear on the homepage.
Good bars and restaurants:free Tapas with every drink in the bars around calle elvira, plaza nueava!
restaurants charge often for tapas, in bars they are free!
beautiful park next to the alhmabra called "martires"- its free and good idea if you dont get tickets for the alhambra.
visit the miradores- view points all over the city, beautiful!
Bad experiences in Granada:we didnt get alhmabra tickets on the day we wanted to visit. its better to book in advance by internet or use the creditcard machines at the alhambra. its crazy what they are doing there, too much people and travel groups! i didn't like the mass there.
Suggestions:You can go by car to the apartment if you pass by plaza nueva, paseo de los tristes. its a one way street- As long as you arrive between 2pm and 8pm. There are free parkings in the Cuesta de Chapiz, just next to the apartment up the hill. its very steep- good drivers can do it ;)

Complaints about accomodation:The appartment was really perfect, really nice and with good equipment for everyday life. It is also well located, with a vue on the Alhambra. The neightbourhood is calm, not too hot.
Maybe it would be better with airconditionning.
Good bars and restaurants:A flamenco show at the gardens of the Generalife at the Alhambra.

Good things about accomodation:The city was beautifull, the location of the appartment was perfect. The service from raoul was very good and friendly, he helped us to find the appartment, to park our car, help us with our bags and he did all little things juist for free. We were very happy with his friendly service.
Good bars and restaurants:Visit the al hambra, just walk around Albacin and you will find a lot of nice restaurants and bars.

Good things about accomodation:The alhambra was terrific, infact it was even better than our first visit 9 yrs ago. Cheap taxis.
Complaints about accomodation:Improve the soundproofing of the appartment as we were continually awakened by noise from above (we could actually hear him snoring!) Coffee percolator was mouldy and couln't be used. A warning could be useful in the shower as the water got scalding hot.
Bad experiences in Granada:Minor hassle from lotto ticket, heather, and flamenco dance sellers.
Suggestions:Take a taxi to the alhambra, its just as cheap as the bus and easier. Severo ocho parking, cheap and easy.
