Good things about accomodation:We really liked the location a lot. It is not in the midst of the hectic touristic center yet everything is nearby. No noise during night-time even if you open your window.
The owner of the place is very helpful with tips and suggestions.
Complaints about accomodation:The floor of the apartment and door to the terrace look a bit worn out, but if that is not a big deal to you, the place has all functional things in good order. Mattrasses are fine, heating good, etc.

Good things about accomodation:every thing was perfect. air condisionning system in all rooms. the owner of the appartement is very sympatic.
Complaints about accomodation:No comment the appartement was well located in the center near shops and most important places of granada. easier to go there by bus (near the bus stations)
Bad experiences in Granada:only the visist to ALHAMBRA we were obliged to hurry in order to be in time to the nazaride palace.

Good things about accomodation:Golondrina Apartment is conveniently located in a wonderful neighborhood close to food shops, restaurants, bus stops basically everything you need to support an apartment and have fun as a tourist. And the neighborhood is flat! Something I appreciated after hiking all over the Alhambra and the Albaicin. The apartment has a good size kitchen that 2 could easily work in with a glass wall that lets in great light and an amazing view that we loved while we cooked our American breakfasts before heading out for the day. Caroline was very helpful and kind.
Complaints about accomodation:The apartment was wonderful.
Good bars and restaurants:The coffee shop Belle had a very friendly staff and where we went for free wifi. The tetería in the neighborhood - 1000 and 1 nights was were I ended every evening. Maria and her husband make the place feel like "Cheers"- a very friendly neighborhood place. Maria gave me an itinerary for Barcelona when she heard I was headed there next.
Bad experiences in Granada:I found Granada beautiful and the people to be warm to outsiders and quick to make others comfortable. I can't believe how far I got on my High School Spanish. I even got to know the area and its bus stops so well I gave directions twice to Spaniards visiting from out of town. Ironically the only unfriendly unhelpful people I encountered were at the tourist info center.Oh - the local wine, cheese, and meat store person told me I could bring meat home if it was vacuumed sealed. TSA website said the same thing. Customs would NOT allow it.
Suggestions:So many tourist websites told me that the Flamenco shows in the Albaicin were all just rip offs. We found that not to be true. We were told by a local resident that that was the place to go. We went to Tablao Flamenco (the only one that seemed to be opened on a Monday) off the Mirador de San Cristobal and saw a great show. Our guides for our stay were local Spanish language students who had seen some of the artists earlier in the year in a festival concert. They also negotiated a cheaper price for us as we skipped the tour of the Albaicin having spent the afternoon hiking around it. Make a reservation if you are seeing a show.
Granadainfo comments:The show she is talking about is the Reina Moro. That place mainly caters for coach tours, she was lucky it was open when she went there.

Good things about accomodation:the flat had everything we required for our stay and is in a lovely part of the city.I would certainly look to booking in the future when I visit my daughter
Complaints about accomodation:The only downside was the walk up to the third floor with our suitcases but we had been prewarned that there was no lift so we managed
Good bars and restaurants:We ate regularly at Casa Lopez Correa which has some of the best food in Granada but at half the price of the city centre restaurants. We also spent plenty of time in Hannigans 2 where there is always sport on one of the 4 screens. Another must is the Italian ice cream shop at the end of Gran Via
Bad experiences in Granada:There are a lot of Gypsies around the tourist sites such as the Cathedral and they try to force their sprigs of heather on you and then demand money. We found we had to shout no at them very forcefully to avoid being harrassed

Good things about accomodation:It was a good basic apartment, nice and clean in a really great location near the Realjo. It was really useful to be met by the owner, who could then point out local shops and places to have tapas.

Complaints about accomodation:No, everything was perfect.
Bad experiences in Granada:No, people are so nice and they are always ready to help if you ask something. Many people don't speak English, but it is so good if you whant practice Spanish.

Good things about accomodation:It was a great location in the city and easy to get downtown, to the Alhambra, to the restaurants and bars.
Complaints about accomodation:We had a great stay.....they were doing maintenance on the building while we were there and the water was turned off during the day for 2 of the days (and each day one of the members of our party had not yet had their shower). It would have been helpful to have been notified ahead of time that the water was to be off. We adapted though and it was not a big deal.
Bad experiences in Granada:Our daughter was ill during our stay and required a visit to the hospital otherwise the trip was great and we would love to come back!
Granadainfo comments:The work being carried out was an emergency repair so no warning could be given.

Good things about accomodation:The appartement is very well situated.
Not far from the major spot to visit or from bus stop.It is a calm location.
People are eager to help you when you seem lost and search your road !
Complaints about accomodation:A larger table for eating and a better aeration for the bathroom will be an improvment.
Noise in the bathroom when somebody downstairs in the building use WC or whashing-machine.
One door of a ''cupboard'' was a little broken.

Good things about accomodation:Very atmospheric, roomy and pleasant apartment, great to be in a block where genuine local people live - glorious smells of cooking in the evening! The owners met us personally and were very friendly and helpful and the location was great - central but enabled exploration of a really vibrant, interesting and untouristy corner of Granada. We'll be back!
Good bars and restaurants:Great bars throughout the Albacin, all well known but worth the visit and close to the apartment you must check out Rossini Quesseria (Campo del Principe), superb cheese and charcuterie tapas and the owner Manolo is fab! Also the Banos Arabes are an abolute must, go often.
Suggestions:Book the Alhambra on the net at least a few weeks in advance (to increase chances of an a.m. entrance) and collect your tickets from the automated machines near the entrance the day before to ensure a total by-pass of all the queues, disappointment and stress. Don't forget to wave at the gloomy queuing cattle as you smugly walk straight in.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was very central for losts of tourist sights. Caroline was very friendly and helpful with local ammenities etc. Restaurants 5 minutes walk from the apartment were good such as the mexican and the Casa Lopez Correa an Italian restaurant.
Good bars and restaurants:I would definatley recommend a visit to the Alhambra Palace but would advise that you prebook as tickets do get sold out quickly.
Granadainfo comments:There is a web page of Casa Lopez Correa here

Good things about accomodation:Location of the unit was great, and the kitchen window view to die for. Well set up for 2 couples, with the 2 bedrooms well seperated, and a functional kitchen. Little outside roof-garden was a bonus.
Complaints about accomodation:We arrived late at night, and were unaware the following day was a Public Holiday - everything CLOSED. Prior notice, or a few basics in the fridge would have been greatly appreciated.
It was 41 - 42 degrees, but we found only the sitting room was air conditioned (a little misleading?)- fans in the bedroom would have aided sleeping.
A few other basics, like condiments in the kitchen, would have stopped us having to start from scratch on everything.
Instructions for recycling/garbage would have been useful. A folder of information could also have told us shopping times, how to work the washing machine, and other local information.
Some bigger pots and pans in the kitchen capable of cooking for 4 would have helped.
Good bars and restaurants:La Alhambra is a must.
The ample local bars all need to be tried to find the best Tapas.
A bus trip into the Sierra Nevada is a great day, an overnight stay even better.
Flamenco at the Caves Museum was fantastic.
Suggestions:A folder of information at the unit as mentioned. Also some basic staples in the kitchen.
A map on the website that showed where the airport bus stopped in town would have given us another option than just taxi.
Granadainfo comments:
We have taken the advice about the airport bus and now we have a page showing how to get from the bus stop. Click here

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was very central to all places of interest and near local shops for essentials.
Complaints about accomodation:Air conditioning in the bedrooms would be beneficial
Good bars and restaurants:We found a very good tapas bar just a few minutes away in Campo Principe called 'Eden'. It opened 3 months ago and is run by an English man and Argentinian who offer vegetarian options.
Bad experiences in Granada:Don't be the last booking for the Palacios Nazaries in the Alhambra eg.7pm. We didn't get in until 7.20 and then were hurried round by officials as they want to close at 8pm. An additional hassle was then returning the audio talk machines to the main desk which closes at 8pm and holds official documentation eg driving licence as a guarantee.
Suggestions:Visit the gardens at Carmen de los Martires and go to the Tea Room in the Albaicin called As-Sirat on the Plaza Charca.
