Good things about accomodation:I liked the appartment, maybe the nicest in this vacation. Decorated with taste, located in an ancient, charming neibourhood, close to downtown and to Alhambra (return is uphill, though). Most of the appartment is underground - a cave - very cool in hot summer days. At arrival, I also received valuable touristic info and tips.
Complaints about accomodation:The appartment is great, the location also.
The only suggetion: in the description should be mentioned that the appartment, and the neibourhood, is on a hill.

Good things about accomodation:It was a really nice little apartment. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the roof every morning!
Complaints about accomodation:The lack of a washing machine was a bit of a problem.
Good bars and restaurants:We ate at lots of local restaurants and mostly they were fine. The Science Park is great for kids.
Bad experiences in Granada:The buses are really a big rip off, specially for families, when taxis are quite good value. Not being allowed to use the single tickets for transfer (when this is allowed for pass holders) is silly.
We had a problem with 1 restaurant but it's too long ago and I can't remember the name. They advertised that they took cards, but in fact did not. We didn't have cash to pay, and they insisted on keeping a driving licence as collateral for payment in cash the next day. I thought that was mean, and that since the mistake was theirs they should have trusted us.
Also the taxi to the airport tried to charge us 30 euro, but reduced it to 25 when I kicked up a big stink.
Granadainfo comments:Actually 30 euros would be about the right price from there.

Good things about accomodation:I loved the apartment, it was charming, very clean with thoughtful touches like coffee, sugar etc there waiting for you. Fantastic views and good value, I was greeted by a friendly lady who gave me loads of helpful info such as buse times, where shops are etc, she also gave me a map - all of whcih was invaluable, although I do speak Spanish so I'm not sure how good her English was. Overall I found Granada really friendly and a stunning city.
Complaints about accomodation:the only suggestion I have to improve staying in the apartment is to be clear when you book that the nearest shop is a 15 minute walk away but it's not a big thing, one other thing that you could make clearer is that its only 10 mins walk to the Alhambra, I don't think you could stay closer unless you were in the grounds!
Bad experiences in Granada:The only bad expereience was a restaurant in the Albacin - Jardin Zoraya ( i think that was the name ) the flamenco was good but the food was awful really.

Good things about accomodation:We enjoyed the whole Granada experience. Sightseeing and shopping.
Complaints about accomodation:Accommodation was very good. Although we knew it was uphill it was steeper than anticipated. A bus route and timetable would have been helpful and perhaps tourism guides in English.
Good bars and restaurants:We recommend the Caldereria Casbar in Albaicin. Good service and excellent food.
Bad experiences in Granada:We were wrongly accused of shoplifting in a tourist shop which was very embarrasing.

Good things about accomodation:THE VIEWS FROM THE TERRACE WERE SUBLIME. BEING ABLE TO PARK OUTSIDE THE APARTMENT WAS AN AMAZING BONUS AS WAS BEING ON THE BUS ROUTE. fANTASTIC DIRECTIONS AND VERY EASY TO GET TO BY CAR. THE APARTMENT WAS QUIRKY AND UNIQUE WITH FANTASTIC DETAIL TO INTERIOR DESIGN. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THE CAVES IN THE LOWER APT AND THE TERRACE APT UPSTAIRS BUT WATCHING THE SUN SET OVER THE WHOLE OF GRANADA QUICKLY SATISFIED OUR CHOICE. CAN DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS ACCOMMODATION.
Suggestions:WE ONLY STAYED FOR TWO NIGHTS WHICH WASN'T REALLY ENOUGH TIME TO EXPLORE THE CITY PROPERLY. WOULD RECOMMEND AT LEAST 3 OR 4 NIGHTS STAY OR A SECOND VISIT WHICH IS WHAT WE'LL BE DOING!

Good things about accomodation:In a very handy position to reach the Alhambra and town on foot, even if the routes were all rather steep! We were very impressed at the ease with which we collected our tickets to the Alhambra (previously booked on the internet).
Complaints about accomodation:The table was a bit small to eat off, so we didn't, but no complaints. I think a bath was expected but there was a shower only, which did not matter to us but could be misleading to others.

Good things about accomodation:The flat is very close to Alhambra - probably no more than a 10-15 minute walk - albeit it rather hilly. But great for walking back.
Really enjoyed the roof terrace and looking out over the city in the evening.
Complaints about accomodation:Bedrooms are both a good size but the living, dining, kitchen area is very small. This would be ok for one couple or a couple with a child, but not great for two adult couples. It's a cute little flat and great to be in a local neighbourhood as opposed to in a tourist area.
Good bars and restaurants:El Tragaluz (Calle Nevot 26). Absolutely brilliant. About 10 mins walk from the flat but hellish to find - so check a map first. Wonderful Spanish / Moroccan fusion food. No menu the night we went - we were just advised what we should eat by the owner chef. Seriously one of the best meals I've had in years.
Bad experiences in Granada:A couple of fairly awful (and overpriced) meals in the tourist area - but no more so than in any other tourist area in cities everywhere.

Good things about accomodation:Grenada is a wonderful place to stay and the neighborhood that this apartment in was perfect. We could see the cathedral from our kitchen window and overlook Grenada from our bedroom. We could easily walk to the City Center and grocery stores and to Alhambra. I also enjoyed running the circle from our apartment around to the ticket office of Alhambra and back near the large hotel on the hill.
Complaints about accomodation:The view and location were ideal, but the apartment was showing a bit of wear. Nothing major, but a little more attention to the extra holes in the wall from old pictures and peeling paint would make the place even more delightful. Additionally, a few more drinking glasses would be nice. Plenty of coffee/tea mugs, just no real glasses.
Good bars and restaurants:There is a wonderful deli on Molinos near Campo del Principe where we purchased spanish meats for lunches. There was also an Irish pub nearby with free wi-fi, which was helpful.

Good things about accomodation:We loved the position of the apartment. The view was also wonderful and a positive feature of the place. It was very quiet too which we appreciated. We were able to park our car in the street just outside our apartment which was a benefit too.
Complaints about accomodation:The flat was a little cold. There was no washing machine and I think the advertisement said there would be one?????

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was clean and fairly well equiped (apart from lounge seating). Very convenient for the Alhambra. Spectacular views over the city. Easy to find and parking on the street.
Complaints about accomodation:Although the apartment slept 4 there was only lounge seating on the sofa for 2.
Suggestions:You need to be fairly fit to get around Granada as it's hilly (or use taxis or buses).

Good things about accomodation:We enjoyed Granada and the location of this accomodation as it was out of the city centre but on one of the regular circular bus routes and only 10 minutes walk to the centre. And if short of time to get to the alloted time for the Alhambra 5 minute short cut over the hill was at hand.
Beds where comfortable nice and firm
View over city excellent
Complaints about accomodation:Our Spanish neighbours in the cavge below did not adhere to the 11 o'clock request in being quiet 3 occasions during the week had noisy conversations at 4 in the morning. And due to the linking stairwell we thought we where in the middle of it.
The hot plates where a little worse for wear as was the cutlery provided.
Good bars and restaurants:Just around the corner from Campo de Principle heading towards city centre, blue fronted restaurant and bar run by English couple - excellent food
Bad experiences in Granada:Grossly overcharged from a little grocery store on Plaza Neuva on the 1st evening 2.5 euros for an apple end up paying out abou 30 euros for approx 6 items without appreciating what a rip off it was not knowing enough Spanish and nothing was marked price wise.
Suggestions:Go to Alhambra early to enjoy fully without being scorched. School parties start to arrive by 10.30 - 11 0'clock

Good bars and restaurants:For Tapas we liked the Ermita - Plaza de Toros which is modern as well as Bodegas Castaneda - Calle de Elvira, traditional. Try Tinto de Verano (summer wine)
Suggestions:For 2 people the apartment is excellent, for 4 people the living area is a little bit small, but there is the famous terrace

Good things about accomodation:Granada is a terrific city and we liked everything we did.
Complaints about accomodation:The apartment was decent although it could have been better. There was not enough toilet paper for 5 people for 3 nights (we had to buy our own). We asked for the spare bed to be made up in advance and it wasn't. The hand held shower was barely adequate and perhaps an upgrade to the hot water heater is in order for an apartment that rents to 5 people. We liked the location.
Good bars and restaurants:The best wi-fi is at Hannigan's.
Bad experiences in Granada:Meals were all good with the exception of the Mexican restaurant, I think it is called Ranchito, on Calle Molino
Granadainfo comments:According to the laws of physics there would be enough water for 5 people to have a shower of 5 minutes one after the other. click here for more info For most people 5 minutes is an adequate amount of time to have a shower. It is never the intention to provide enough toilet paper for the entire stay. As a courtesy we provide 2 rolls on arrival. For many people this is enough for 3 days it depends on the technique used. If we were going to guarantee to supply toilet rolls for the entire stay we would have to ask the guests to fill in a questionaire before the stay asking unpleasant personal questions. If you require an unlimited supply of hot water and toilet paper it would be better to go to a hotel although you would pay considerably more.

Good things about accomodation:We rented a car for the day and made a short excursion to the coast (Salobrena) and then to the mountain villages of Capileira, Bubion, and Pampaniera which provided us with an amazing variety of geography and beautiful views. All in one day!
Complaints about accomodation:The dehumidifiers were definitely useful as were the two heaters. It was cold in Granada while we were there and one extra heater for the bathroom would have been nice.
The kitchen was nicely equipped.
Good bars and restaurants:It would have been nice to have had written recommendations of restaurants and bars close to the apartment. We were told of several but our spanish wasn't good enough to really understand.
Suggestions:Thanks for the tips on catching the buses and the quick replacement of a broken coffee pot.

Good things about accomodation:We enjoyed the narrow streets of the city, the little buses manuvering in them, and of course the main tourish sites. A nice place to visit and see.
Complaints about accomodation:The accommodations were nice - not too spacey but good enough for a couple. The main problem is the fact that the place even with the humtifier still has some mould smell. But the idea of the cave and the total athmosphere in it, was really nice and different. the location is great for it is just out of down town - 20 min walking or so and located in a nice hill over looking the city.
Suggestions:Just go walk and enjoy the city,
Granadainfo comments:It has been the wettest winter since 1964. Many places have spots which may happens after many days of continuous rain.

Good things about accomodation:Quaint appartment and loved terrace for breakfast and evening drinks! Great location and free parking although hilly and could struggle if poor mobility but on bus route and taxis not expensive. We also used as a base to explore Alpujarra (recommended) and only 1 hr to beach.
V close to Alhambra and 10-15 min walk to Campo Principe with several lively restaurants.
Complaints about accomodation:Limited kitchen equipment so would have found cooking anything above a very simple meal difficult.
Good bars and restaurants:Restaurants in Campo Principe.
Enjoyed cocktails in terrace bar of Alhambra palace hotel (expensive but worth it and fab view). Also recommend the Arab baths near Plaza Nueva
Bad experiences in Granada:Make sure you prebook Alhambra tickets and get there early to collect them - we wasted a long time wandering around before we found the ticket ofice!

Good things about accomodation:We just loved its convenience to the Alhambra and indeed to the town in general. The views from the roof terrace and the windows are stunning! We loved the little artistic touches and the wisteria transformed the appartment into a fairyland! We found taxi fares very reasonable.
Complaints about accomodation:I leave my rating as 'excellent' as so much was so- the only drawback was a rather small bathroom off the kitchen..no problem for one couple but could be awkeward for four people but having said that it did work for the four of us.
Good bars and restaurants:We went to a tapas bar off Plaza Nueva 'Bodega Castanata' or something like that!It was superb and the staff were friendly and prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed all the food we had to eat in Granada. The highlight was definitely the, Alhambra. I have visited many many places of historical and religious interest all over the world and I must say that I was blown away by the understated splendour of the Alhambra,
Bad experiences in Granada:No problems only joy and pleasure!

Good things about accomodation:We loved the whole idea of staying in a cave, and the roof terrace was wonderful. The view was amazing! We also had great weather throughout our stay - beautiful blue skies and warm weather.
Good bars and restaurants:Visiting the Alhambra was amazing, of course. We had lunch one day at Restaurante Las Tomasas in the Alabaicin. It was a hike to get up there, but the food was great, and the view of the Alhambra from the terrace was unbeatable.
Suggestions:It is an uphill hike to get back to the cave apartment, so either wear comfortable shoes and prepare yourself or get familiar with the minibus routes!
