Good things about accomodation:Loved the Arabic/Moorish and Flamenco touches everywhere in the house. The Painting in passage on the way to the bedroom is to die for!Living in the Albaicin just added to the depth of antiquity you feel while in Granada. Make sure you have a car with narrow hips to fit through those streets! And do do the bus ride on 31/32/34!!Good luck navigating a car ( especially if for you like us it is the wrong side of the road!), but try to get out to the Alpujarras and the Sierra. Even though it looks like you far out of town - the centre is a hop, skip and jump away - and if the night bus can't bring you back and those legs quiver at the thought of that hill - just hail a cab...Don't miss the vibrant 'flea markets'. Being there during the Dance and Music festival was an added bonus to see top artists perform in this city
Complaints about accomodation:It's a pity the water jets in the bath have been disabled, that would only have increased the romance aspect!
Good bars and restaurants:Alhambra,Alhambra,Alhambra - but pre - book on internet and give yourself @ least 2 hrs there. Drive out to the Alpujarras and Sierra or even Malaga area if you've never been there you need to cool off in the sea!
Bad experiences in Granada:No. Everything was Purrrrrfect!Just scary driving in the Albaicin and Sacromonte areas thanks to narrow streets, excess on vehicle insurance if damaged AND navigating the circumvalacion was interesting !
Suggestions:Thanks John for the very useful info leaflet and advice on how to get there (on net). Great Place -not sure what your others are like, makes me wonder!!I really have very little to say -it was a wonderful end to our holiday

Good things about accomodation:The wifi was a very useful extra.
The terrace was very nice. Info on restaurants and transport much appreciated.
Complaints about accomodation:Please provide basic supplies--bath soap, dish soap. We had to buy these.
Good bars and restaurants:La Plateria flamenco--supposedly for members only but open to tourists for thurs eve show.
Excellent italian/spanish restaurant in the Plaza San Miguel Bajo -- can\'t recall the name. Get the Secreto del Cerdo Ibierico!
Bad experiences in Granada:We found the much recommended El Yunque to have chilly waiters and overpriced, completely mediocre food. It appears they are riding on too many mentions in guidebooks.
Suggestions:The Bono Touristico is a good value and you can use it to book your Alhambra visit. You buy it online and pick it up during bank hours (with your reservation number and the credit card used to make the booking) at the plaza isabella de la catolica (across the plaza from from the BBVA). Make sure it is not a bank holiday! info here
There was a lovely shop with local wines, olive oil, preserves, cheeses, ham, etc very close to the apt on the corner with Elvira. They have a happy hour and appetizers in the evenings.

Good things about accomodation:Local buses are very good, shops and plenty to see and do.
Complaints about accomodation:A handrail on the exterior steps would be a good idea, as they are slippery when wet!
Good bars and restaurants:Jardines de Zoraya (Albaicin) is very good if you wish to see live Flamenco dancing (which is free. The menu is good and not too expensive.
el Aji (Albaicin) has a more refined menu but although more expensive than Jardines de Zoraya is still good value.
We used the tourist bus 48Hr ticket and rode the entire route to get an idea of what we wanted to see, you can catch this bus outside the Cathederal, the ticket seller was very helpful, buses pickup from stops every half hour.
Bad experiences in Granada:We experienced no problems everyone was very nice and welcoming, although most waiters, you shouldn't take it that everyone can speak English,so brush up on your Spanish to make your experience smoother.
Watch out for the gypsy women outside the Cathederal selling Rosemary, although harmless they tend to grab hold of your arm, just ignore them and keep walking (they won't put a curse on you)!
Suggestions:Rather than getting off the airport bus outside the Cathederal it is better to get off at the stop before Gran Via Centro) as it is nearly opposite the Hemmingway (although still 10 min walk up the hill). If you do get off at the Cathederal it will take about 20 mins walking.

Good things about accomodation:The house was charming, full of character, and very well situated. From it we could walk up to the plaza and fantastic views of the Alhambra or down to the main part of the city with all the sights. Excellent. We were both charmed by it.
Complaints about accomodation:No manuals in evidence to work out how to operate halogen hob, dishwasher, oven/grill but owners responded quickly to our comments and were very helpful.
Suggestions:We chose to hire a car for the week, which we left parked outside. But it really wasn't worth the cost, as getting in and out of the city was a bit hairy, and we were anxious about the hire car getting damaged in the street (which it did a bit). Everything is within walking distance, and if you don't want to walk there's an excellent bus service, so don't bother with a car.

Good things about accomodation:Perfect location. great heating for a winter trip-the first time i have been to spain in the mid winter and been warm.upstairs is great and a nice bathroom.
Complaints about accomodation:There was not enough hot water to fill that lovely bath.
Granadainfo comments:The water tank is 175 litres at around 65C. (any hotter would risk scalding) The norm for a 6 person apartment is 75-100 litres. It could be that the temperature during you stay was very cold so that the water coming in from the street was very cold which cooled the hot water down more than normal when it was mixed. 175 litres of water at 65C mixed with 175 litres of water at 5C would result in 350 litres of water at 35C which is a good temperature for a bath. If the temperature of the mains water was 10C then there would be 385 litres. I imagine that the temperature of the mains water in Granada fluctuates between 5C and 15C during the year. However if you really enjoy bathing there are several places which may be of interest to you on this page

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was great. We loved sitting out on the terrace in the sun having lunch and the location, being so close to the Saint Nicholas mirador and the plaza larga was great. The information you provided was very helpful, and having the Rough Guide to Andalusia was excellent as we didn't have one. As a result of this we took a fantastic trip to the Alpujarras for a day- up to Capliera, which was one of the many highlights of our stay.
Complaints about accomodation:It would be very convenient if there was enough cleaning products for the dish washer and the clothes washer for the length of our stay.
Suggestions:It would be useful to tell guests about the bus ticketing system where you can get 16 rides for 10 euros (2 euro deposit on a card) It took me a while to work it out.

Good things about accomodation:The terrace was perfect for enjoying wine, manchego cheese and fresh bread after a long day of walking, sightseeing, and enjoying the beautiful Granada scenery. The house's library of DVD's is extensive and makes for an enjoyable, relaxing end of evening.
Good bars and restaurants:Be sure to visit La Oliva at C/Rosario, 9 in Granada. The proprietor, Francisco Lillo offers wonderful olive oil and wine tastings with a menu of tasty tapas for a very reasonable fee. We had a very memorable evening there sampling local oils, wines, and hand prepared tapas including pates, cheeses, chorizo, chicken, salad and desserts.

Good bars and restaurants:Went to a restaurant called Zoraya (i think) which was just up the hill from the appartment and had a meal with a flamenco show. We thought the artists were very good. They gave an excellent performance despite the fact there were few customers in the restaurant.

Good things about accomodation:Lovely roof terrace. Also found your website advice great for booking Alhambra tickets and other tips - many thanks. We'd definitely recommend you to anyone visiting Granada for the first time, as we were.
Complaints about accomodation:No complaints at all - we thought the house was really lovely and we'd like to return one day. We looked at previous comments so took our own soap and agree that instructions for apliances, especially the stove would be welcome, also a coffee pot would be good. But these are tiny things - overall it was wonderful.
Good bars and restaurants:We really enjoyed visiting Lorca's house in the park - we were given a lovely tour and enjoyed the bookshop as well. Highly recommended.
Bad experiences in Granada:Nothing bad at all, but we were very grateful for your prompt help on the last morning when we had difficulty ringing for a taxi.

The appartement is situated in a beautiful location with a nice view and lots of green. The appartement itself is also very nice due to its local style and its appropriate fittings, as well as for the fantastic terrace, which we used a lot.

Good things about accomodation:Loved being in the Albaycin & Cuesta Alhacaba. The garden across the road from the lovely terrace made it quieter & more private

Good things about accomodation:The accommodation was very good. Bedrooms basic but cool. Living area excellent, particularly the terrace with table, bbq etc. Generally a lovely cottage, well equipped, good bathroom & kitchen, beds ok, stairs seriously difficult, lots of steps up to property, terrace gorgeous, yes generally not bad - I know, I look after 400 properties in uk west country!
Complaints about accomodation:There was some street noise from revellers walking past. Stairs lethal for elderly or frail - no hand rail and very steep - would be good to have a warning.

Good things about accomodation:Really loved Hemingway because of where it was, the view of the old walls, the feeling that real life Albycin was just up the road, the markets, flower shop & community. It was interesting to walk up and down by the various routes, and the bus was necessary sometimes! Loved the terrace and the umbrella, sorry to miss the jasmine, hot water excellent!
Complaints about accomodation:The cooker was a bit confusing as the old controls were still there, otherwise the kitchen well-equipped.

Good things about accomodation:Granada was very relaxing. We found the neighborhood at the top of the hill very interesting and useful. Everyone was helpful and cheerful.
Complaints about accomodation:The only thing would be the tree on the terrace. It could be trimmed.
Good bars and restaurants:The restaurant aixa and the coffee shop at the top of the hill from our street.
Bad experiences in Granada:The taxi from the airport was a lot more than the one going to the airport (the owner organised a taxi for the return journey).
Suggestions:Bus transportation was excellent. Be careful of stones on the hilly streets they can be slippery and always watch where you are walking.

Good things about accomodation:The kitchen was well provided for cooking and we liked all the information that was provided and the selection of dvds was great! The house is pretty and has character.
Complaints about accomodation:It would've been nice to have access to the top terrace to hang washing out. The curtains did not block out all the light at night.
Granadainfo comments:Although the top terrace is not officially part of the house and does not appear on the website there is a key near to the door on the ledge which leads up to it. As the top terrace is not part of the house you can't complain if it has not been swept but you can hang your washing out or sunbathe if you want.

Good things about accomodation:We really enjoyed the location and the jasmine covered terrace. Granada itself is a great place ( we liked it most out of all the places we visited in Spain). The people we met were friendly and the atmostphere laid back.
Complaints about accomodation:Overall it was good but the two single beds were not firm enough for us.
Good bars and restaurants:Just wondering around taking in the atmosphere. The Albaycin is worth seeing and we had no 'dodgy' experiences in the backstreets. Some great grafitti, especially around the 'mini-alhambra' you can see from the hemingway house terrace.
The teteria As Sirat on Placeta de la Charca was lovely. Delicious teas, Good atmosphere and decoration, friendly Lady.

Good things about accomodation:Granadinfo were super helpful in the booking process. Hemingway House was nice and cool, had a lovely bathroom and a pleasant deck overlooking the Albaicin walls. Also the gate and door security was good. The Alhambra is magnificent, a wonder of the world, and it is very clean and well and efficiently operated.
Complaints about accomodation:We have no complaints about Hemingway House.
Good bars and restaurants:JARDINES DE ZORAYA for a nice meal and excellent flamenco. Well worth it.
Bad experiences in Granada:Graffiti and dog droppings on the streets of the Albaicin.
Suggestions:Granada is a great place to holiday and the Alhambra could not be better. Maybe a daily high pressure water hose of the Alabaicin cobbles (maybe on the back of the 31/32 buses?) to deal with the dog droppings problem would improve Albaicin cleanliness.

Good things about accomodation:We were VERY happy with the apartment -- so many thoughtful little touches, everything from providing olive oil, cooking oil and vinegar, to making sure the bathroom was nice and warm when we arrived. Much appreciated!
Good bars and restaurants:There is a nice market up at the top of the hill (Plaza Larga) in the mornings which sells excellent fruit and vegetables. We also enjoyed the bakery - which sells northern European-style darker bread - which is on the small street leading out of Plaza Larga (away from the downhill slope), just across from the second (self-service) Coviran.
Bad experiences in Granada:No - on the contrary, we got stuck in Granada during the volcano and were impressed with how kind and resourceful people were in helping us to make alternative arrangements to leave.
