Good things about accomodation:The house El Lunar has the most beautiful location, it is situated in one of the most precious places in Europe- Albaicin with a breath -taking view of Alhambra. It is an unforgetable experience to eat breakfast on a terras with such view everyday! And at night the view and place is even more magic with the sounds of flamenco coming from the Zambras...
Complaints about accomodation:No, I have no complains and the location, house and hosts are so perfect that there is not a lot you can improve!
Good bars and restaurants:There are many nice and cheap pladces in Albaicin, we enjoyed a lot eating on Plaza Larga and in that area, but I dont remember the names of the places.
Bad experiences in Granada:Not really, someties the gypsies inviting to see flamenco are a bit pushy, but other then that we didnt have any bad experience.
Suggestions:I can only advise to go and visit Granada and Andalucia and pick up a place thru your site. We enjoyed staying at El Lunar a lot and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. We want to back there next year - that is for sure !

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was spotlessly clean and very thoughtfully designed & decorated. As well as being a comfortable and beautiful home-from-home, everything worked perfectly (NO lack of hot water, lights not working, fuses tripping out, dodgy kitchen appliances etc!) The location is perfect; a quiet spot in the heart of Sacromonte whilst being close enough to bars/restaurants/shops etc. and only a 25 minute walk to the centre of Granada. The (unbroken) views of The Alhambra from the roof terrace are stunning and there's two other patio areas for al fresco dining too! The owner was extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. Various maps, timetables and information on parking, bars, restaurants, things to see/do etc. were provided. There were several unexpected bonuses like a CD/radio and a number of UK satellite TV channels. From past experiences, I always hope an apartment's description and photos come close to the reality...El Lunar's far exceeded my expectations. A genuine 10 out of 10 throughout.
Complaints about accomodation:Simply the best self-accommodation apartment I've ever stayed at (and I've stayed at a lot!) I genuinely can't think of a single thing that could be improved.
Good bars and restaurants:The centre of Granada has plenty of great and varied bars & restaurants but I spent a lot of time wandering the maze of streets and alleys in The Albaicin and Sacromonte. Plaza Larga was fantastic for cheap, more-off-the-tourist-trail food & drinks (and the famed free tapas!) There's also a great Saturday morning market in Plaza Larga. About 30 meters West from El Lunar House is possibly the world's smallest bar (don't think it even has a name!) where you can grab a drink and enjoy the 2nd. best view (after the mirador de San Nicolas) of The Alhambra. Another thing to mention is the excellent and extensive bus services from the main Granada Bus Station. For a few Euros you can make day trips to The Alpujarras, down to the Costa Tropical etc. etc. There's an excellent international bookshop called Metro (C/Gracia 31) which has many books in English. The cave museum at the top of Sacromonte is also well worth visiting.
Suggestions:Book your Alhambra tickets in advance. Go for the 'BONO turstico / tourist sightseeing pass' option which includes free entry to other places and a number of free city bus trips (you can book this from the granada.info web page). Include a trip to The Alpujarras in your itinerary (simply stunning...) Stock up on your 'basics' from the supermarket in the basement of El Corte Ingles (which has a stangely wide selection of vegetarian/vegan things!) but be sure to visit the fruit & veg' market beside the Cathedral! Good things about accomodation:The apartment was delightful, well equipped (although an oven, a grill or a microwave would have been welcome). Wonderful views from the terraces, close to regular Abaicin buses (but not for those who can't/don't like to walk up hills!) Toru the owner was charming and helpful.
Good bars and restaurants:For those who want to see as much as possible, the Bono Turistico is a good buy. If you buy it at the audioguide kiosk they will sell you the audioguide as well. Tell them if you don't want it.
Suggestions:The airport bus at 3 euros is great value. From Gran Via walk through to Plaza Nueva and get the Albaicin bus to Peso de la Harina - close enough to the apartment to meet Toru.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment "El Lunar" exceeds most of the apartments I've ever rented before by that it is a genuine house, spacious, comfortable, fully equipped, nicely built, reasonably priced, and very wellkept by it's owners. Above that, it is on a beautiful location in Granada and a.o. due to it's two terraces and stunning views, a very nice place to be in itself. For the sake of well-informing in should be noted that El Lunar is built on a mountain and it takes a good climb from the citycentre up the Sacromonte-hill. It's neither approachable by car and shops are a 10-minute walk away - which means it takes a firm walk here and there to get your luggage, or do groceries.
Complaints about accomodation:No complaints. I think it might serve the visitor if he was informed beforehand that the apartment is next to the owner's house and that the owner is around.
Good bars and restaurants:The nearby PIBE-bar is a very nice spot, and would be good for breakfasts (it serves very good bocadillo's), but only opens after 13.00 - do have a bocadillo & salad-lunch there. Being a vegetarian, there weren't specific favorable restaurants for me and my alikes. As generally known, it's hard to find a decent vegetarian meal in a regular Andalusian eatingspot. Allthough some people try to convince you otherwise, you'll mostly end up with tortilla and some primitive salad, or a pizza. Even more reason to rent an appartment and cook for yourself. Or head down to EL PIANO (Gran Capitain 7) - a vegetarian/vegan take away with great meals for very decent prices. For ice-lovers: don't get confused by the overload of 'heladerias' in Granada: "Los Italianos" on the Gran Via is the only place to be (I've tried them all, so trust me). For ceramics: there is a nice factory (and shop) on c. Fajalauza - a 10 minute walk from the apartment. And don't forget to take a stroll through town on friday,- and saturday-night. It's when temperatures are cool, and the fun-stuff is all around. Keep an eye on the open-air program in the Generalife-theatre; another way to experience the Alhambra.
Bad experiences in Granada:I hadn't any bad experiences.
Suggestions:Granada seems to be a horrible place for traffic, and travellers by car should indeed heed the Bermuda-situation around Albyazin and Sacramento. Some inside knowledge on the subject appeared to be essential to make it through alive. Both the Granadainfo-team as well as the owner of the apartment provided me with lots of warnings and suggestions.

Good things about accomodation:The location of the apartment couldn't be better, with wonderful views over the Alhambra to the right, and to the left, up a lovely green valley. If you want to get out into the countryside it's possible to walk across to the other side of the valley and then hike up the valley on footpaths that are easy to follow and beautifully peaceful. Toru is the perfect host, he attended to any requirements we had and was very friendly. We especially enjoyed the 3 terraces with amazing views, being able to eat dinner on our own terrace looking over the floodlit Alhambra while watching the swallows and bats flying past was an amazing experience that we'd recommend to anyone.
Complaints about accomodation:Everything was perfect, we certainly don't have any complaints.
Good bars and restaurants:We self catered all week we were there, but in terms of activities, obviously the Alhambra. It's also easy to visit Cordoba by train which we'd recommend just to visit the amazing Mezquita. The walk along the valley and then up to the top of the ridge above the Generalife gives you great views of Granada and the valley below, as well as the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Bad experiences in Granada:We had no problems at all, and with our limited Spanish we found everyone to be helpful and honest.
