Good things about accomodation:Other than the above comment, everything was excellent and Antonio was really kind and helpful. A really nice apartment with stunning views, as promised. Very central too.
Complaints about accomodation:All excellent except the china and mugs were old and chipped and cracked. We bought two new mugs and left them there.

Good things about accomodation:The split-level apartment is beautiful -- comfortable, cozy, clean, and well equipped. The owner, Antonio, is very friendly and helpful, and can give you a local's insight into the best places of entertainment and dining. The location is fabulous, with a view of the Alhambra from the bedroom and within walking distance of all the sites in Granada. Altogether, the neighborhood of Albaicin is the most charming one in town and a "must explore" destination. The apartment is a very good value for the money.
Suggestions:A special thanks to the granadainf.com for providing helpful information about Granada and for hosting a well-organized, automated site that works!

Good things about accomodation:We really enjoyed the apartment and the location was great.
Complaints about accomodation:The only additional thing I would have liked in the apartment was a sharper knife (for cutting melons)
Good bars and restaurants:We went to three of the restaurants that Antonio recommended and they were all good particularly the one where they served fondu (I can't remember the name but we had to ring the bell to be admitted).
Granadainfo comments:The fondue restaurant is called El Agua

Good things about accomodation:The accommodation was really exactly what I wanted.Everything is in good condition in the appartment. The owner is helpful, welcoming and friendly and the view of the Alhambra was estupendo! Calle San Juan de los Reyes, the street the apartment is on, has car traffic one way. This is probably a bit noisier than a flat in the narrower streets in the Albaicin but it was good for me because it also meant it was well lit and there were people around when I walked home at night. I felt safe walking to the apartment at night. I might not have felt quite so happy walking back at night through some of the quieter, less well lit streets.
Complaints about accomodation:I wasn't sure at first about the automatic code lock on the front door as there wasn't a way to physically lock the door from the inside at night. As I was there on my own, I would have appreciated a chain or a bolt. However on the occasion when I left in a rush and forgot my handbag, the code system was great, as I could get back in with the number.I can see that if there were more of you, the code system would be very useful as then every one could come and go without keys
Good bars and restaurants:I really enjoyed the events at the Museo de Sacromonte in their outdoor cinema/theatre space. One night I saw a film about Morente and on another occasion an unforgettable flamenco performance by dancers from Carmen de las Cuevas, that was absolutely incredible. It is pleasantly cooler up in Sacromonte, the gardens and cafe are very pleasant and the view at night of the Alhambra and the town is unbeatable!
Bad experiences in Granada:No bad experiences.Every one was really friendly and helpful

Good things about accomodation:Antonio is lovely! He was friendly, yet kept to himself and provided us with very thoughtful suggestions and a map of highlights of Granada. We did almost everything and it was right on! This apartment was perfectly equipped with everything we needed for a long-term stay (one month). We enjoyed the terrace in the evenings, with the cool breeze and sounds of the distant flamenco music. The perfect location of the Apt. Axares also allowed us to come and go as we pleased each day/night without ever having to rely on any public transport or taxis- as we walked everywhere. Although it was summer time, we were just fine with A/C, as we opened up the apt. each evening when the temps dropped and the cool breeze came in, then closed up in the morning to keep the cool air in. The apartment is also very beautifully restored with quality furnishings and a great shower!
Good bars and restaurants:Aside from all of the attractions, we really liked a bar called Verdi- a throwback 'speakeasy' bar, where the bartender (mixologist) comes to your table and confers with you to decide how to create a perfect cocktail for you. It is in the Realejo area. We also loved the small perfume shop 'Alquimia Pervane' on the teahouse street in the Albaicin, just a couple of doors down from La Cueva restaurant.
Suggestions:If you want to stay in an authentic area, yet experience modern comforts at a very reasonable price- stay here!

Good things about accomodation:The view of the Alhambra from the apartment was great. I enjoyed the fact that the apartment is in such an interesting area and that you could discover everything my foot.
Good bars and restaurants:The capella real is worth seeing for people interested in baroque/rococco art. Same is true for the monastery de la Cartuja.
Bad experiences in Granada:I fed on excellent serrano bought a the market + good cheese and local oranges. The tapas were nice but I was utterly disappointed by 'local' restaurants: that came as a surprise (I didn't want to eat paella in Andalucia and avoided menus for tourists)
Suggestions:The bus is the way to go from the airport and back. 3 euros is a great price and they are fast. It would be silly to spend 25-30 euros for the same trip in a taxi that will, may be, take 10 less minutes.

Good things about accomodation:The Alhambra was breath taking, early morning visits are the best.
Close to Plaza Nueva : John of God museum in Casa de los Pisa; very original exhibition of Manuel Rodriguez apart from the history of John of God and the beautiful mansion from 1500.
Complaints about accomodation:Improvement could be made in offering a cleaning service, clean towels after 2/3 days.

Good things about accomodation:We loved loved loved the location (less than 5 minute walk to plaza Nueva) and Antonio, our host, met up with us as soon as we got to the apartment at 10:30 at night to give us suggestions on where to pick up a bus, find tapas bars and where to eat. The shower was hot and the front door was easy to get into, even though we were arriving at 10:30 at night. The view from the upstairs bedroom is amazing.
Complaints about accomodation:We had 5 people in the apartment which was tight.
Good bars and restaurants:Lisboa in Plaza Nueva for breakfast was a hearty hot breakfast on the patio for us weary Americans and La Restaurante Mimbre was an AMAZING lunch on the patio in March right before we went into the Alhambra.
Bad experiences in Granada:I don't remember the name of the restaurant but it was in Plaza Nueva and I got the seafood paella and had terrible food poisoning from it!!!
Suggestions:The buses are cheap and easy to get around in, and only cost 1.20 euros.
Granadainfo comments:The franchise type restaurants actually on Plaza Nueva and Bib Rambla often draw bad comments. They are directed at tourists who will only go there once.

Good things about accomodation:The accommodation is excellent, equipped to a good standard with everything you will need for your stay. If you do have any problems the owner Antonio is very helpful and lives close by.
Good bars and restaurants:Too many to mention. Granada is a woderful, wonderful town.
Counter intuitive though it may be, the nicest place for a morning coffee/pastry/plan making sit in the sun on Placa Nueva is called Ooh La La. Very friendly staff.
Bad experiences in Granada:Don't make the mistake of taking your morning coffee/pastry/plan making sit in the sun outside the northern most cafe on Placa Nueva (the first one you come to when walking from the apartment). We watched as a succession of customers were given appalling service by aggressive staff who were obviously aggrieved by peoples insistance on ordering things.
Do not expect any change from €10 for tea and a small confection for two at a Morrocon tea house.

Bad experiences in Granada:Went to 2 museums which should have been open but were closed. That made us very cross.
Suggestions:Granada is wonderful. I loved every minute of my visit and will come back again.

Good things about accomodation:The accommodation was just fine and Antonio the owner who lives next door was very welcoming and charming. Although he lives next door, he was not at all obtrusive (we only saw him once during the week) but it was good to know he was available in an emergency.
Complaints about accomodation:We would have prefered 2 pillows on each bed, and of course the beds were Spanish and hard (compared with home). The terrace was large enough to have a couple of sun-loungers as well as the table and 4 chairs - this would make a big improvement.
Bad experiences in Granada:No bad experiences at all. Everyone was very friendly even though we don't speak Spanish.
Suggestions:When going to the Alhambra you are allocated a time slot for the Nasrid Palaces - say 11:30. There is always a queue starting 10-15 minutes before this and it can take another 10 minutes to get in after 11:30. To avoid the queue go along 10-15 minutes after your alloted time. You will be allowed in without queuing for 20-25 minutes after your alloted time slot. Then you can take your time once you're inside.
