Good things about accomodation:For our purposes, the location and access to shopping, transportation, etc., were super! The outdoor cafe just below the apartment was delightful, handy, and the waitress very charming!!
Complaints about accomodation:Like mentioned above, we were quite content with the accommodations!! With respect to ideas, although somewhat simple, it would be an improvement if: table/chairs legs have self-adhesive foot pads to eliminate noise, entry door hinges need lubricant, and an egg turner would be appreciated. Kitchen overhead fixture had one bulb burned out. Although a wall hook is provided in the bathroom, one or more hooks on the back of the bath door would be more convenient and eliminate the possibility that a hanging item might fall in the toilet!
Good bars and restaurants:The only bad services we found were "super".....
Bad experiences in Granada:Myself having lived in Madrid for six years in the 70' and my lady companion, found Granada most satisfying and the pace there more our style!!!
Suggestions:I would like to comment on the professionalism of Angie and her great personality! She was very to me and rest of my family of five during out stay!

Good things about accomodation:The location and balcony were good
Complaints about accomodation:Bad maintenance of the fridge one did not work and our food was spoilt . Washing machine did not rinse or empty spent one hour mopping up water and re washing clothes .could not get tv to work. No helpful advice . Ran out of toilet paper and also only two chairs for three people. This nice apartment is being spoilt by not being maintained well. No change of towels also limited pans and cooking utensils also no kettle to boil water. On arrival also nothing to light the gas. For the price paid it was all very poor as my trip advisor review will reflect.

Good things about accomodation:Roof terrace had spectacular view and we were sunbathing from 2 to 6pm in October - ideal location for access to everything.
Complaints about accomodation:A lighter would be useful to light the cooker on arrival.
Good bars and restaurants:Bar Reca and Bar Goya in Plaza Trinidad, Bella & Bestia on the way up to Paseo los Tristes. Cafe Ali in Plaza San Miguel el Bajo in the Albaicin, Bodegas Castenenda near Plaza Nueva - all good tapas places. For posher meal with fab location overlooking Alhambra, Mirador Morayma on Tuesday evening had a flamenco guitarist and singer. Viewpoints from the mosque garden up near the San Nicholas view point in the Albaicin. Fab free garden with views Carmen de los Martires up beside the Alhambra.
Suggestions:Give yourself plenty time at bus stations to buy tickets as there can be queues and the buses are busy. Eg we left for the bus station at 2.30pm and were in good time for the 4pm bus but would not have made the 3pm bus.

Good things about accomodation:wonderful apartment, completely furnished, perfectly situated, great view from the roof terrace
Good bars and restaurants:no bars/restaurants we tried were worth to be recommended
Bad experiences in Granada:not really. but the little restaurant just in front of the apartment served food heated in the microwave - not very tasty
Suggestions:it's a good idea to visit the Alhambra as early as possible (we did at 8:30), when it's still not too crowded

Good things about accomodation:we liked the site very much, and it's not expensive, it has a marvellous roof terrace, Paloma, Isaac and Sarah are really very nice
Complaints about accomodation:it's a pity that the owners of the apartment shows not so much love for his/her appartment because it lacked so much daily maintenance, for example, there are not enough complete cutainhooks, the washing-machine smells etc. etc.
Good bars and restaurants:bodega Castaneda, typical Spanish food very close to the Plaza Nueva. The Coviran for all your daily shopping in the Elvira street
Bad experiences in Granada:so much beggars and drugs addicts
Suggestions:a tip for the owner: please contract a handyman or -woman

Good things about accomodation:Perfect location-very short walking distance to Plaza Nueva, mercado for supplies, Albycin and Hammam baths. A pleasant 15/20 min walk to Granada Cathedral. Fantastic views of Albycin and loved the very large, easy access terrace with tables, chairs and lounges and umbrella.
Complaints about accomodation:The apt offers a washer but no facilities for drying your clothes, no rack, and no line. That was disappointing-a large terrace and no drying facilities.
Good bars and restaurants:Visit Zambra Flamenco, a wonderful show in a cave in the Sacramonte area. You don’t need to go online or call to make reservations; pick up tickets at ticket booth on Plaza Nueva. The ticket includes transportation from Plaza Nueva. The van will stop at an excellent vantage point to view the Alhambra lit up at night! Excellent Arab dinner at Salon de Te. Lots of choices close by to pick up an inexpensive bocadillo, pastry or gelato and close to lots of souvenir shops located on/around Plaza Nueva. Be sure to price compare! If you visit Sacramonte Abbey, the tourist bus stops at the entrance (it’s stop #4 or #5 on the Sacramonte tourist bus) but the tourist bus only goes to the Sacramonte area certain days of the week. Tour is in Spanish only and on the hour with a group, but the underground tombs and abbey are interesting. Alhambra – allow at least 4-5 hours to see it all. You can walk down from or up to the Alhambra from Plaza Nueva (there is a sign at the street at the Plaza). Coming down from the Alhambra, it’s a little tricky to find the path. It’s located on the other side of the water fountains on your right as you walk down the zig zag road from the exit by the gift shops and cannons. Much faster than taking the road all the way back. Purchase spices and teas outside the Granada Cathedral – soo many choices! Visit the incredible Granada Cathedral and the adjoining chapel where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella are buried.
Bad experiences in Granada:No problems, felt very safe walking around Plaza Nueva and to the apartment late at night.

Good things about accomodation:The location and furnishing of the Penthouse apt was excellent and the check in was down well, so it was a pity that the above matters had not been attended to. We would then have been able to definitely recommend it to others.
Complaints about accomodation:Only one of the 2 lights in the kitchen worked which made it hard to see well. (2 other wall lights in the main room were not working) No brush or apparatus for cleaning the dishes or wiping down the benches was provided. The handle on the long (L) window to the patio is missing and was open - and it was snowing- so we had to activate the lock with a penknife to keep it shut.
Granadainfo comments:All aspects of the apartment should be perfect when you arrive. We advise all guests to inspect the apartments on arrival. If anything stops working during your stay just tell the staff and it will be fixed. If you have made the booking with granadainfo then you can phone us in English and we will make sure that any problems you have will be solved.

Good things about accomodation:This is a good quality modern apartment. Our visit to the Alhambra and Generalife was a highlight.
Complaints about accomodation:The only suggestion I would make is for a clothes airer (or clothes horse) be provided so that clothes can be dried once they have been washed. Some information about location of a supermarket would also be appreciated.

Good things about accomodation:The accomodation itself was great, clean and comforable and in a fantastic location ideal for every where. It was also peacefull on an evening
Complaints about accomodation:My only complaint would be that the kitchen was not very well equipped, for example no kettle, tea cups or mugs or even a spatula for turning over a fried egg. There was also no iron. Other accomodation we have stayed in also normally has basics such as salt, pepper etc left over from others but the cupboards had been cleaned out.

Good things about accomodation:the position of the apartment is great, easy access and love the balcony and sitting out space
Complaints about accomodation:love the Atico apartment and this was my third stay, what was not so good this time, was the lack of cooking equipment especially, a good knife, tea cups and a chopping board and kettle. Also the smell from the bathroom drain is getting worse since my last stay
Good bars and restaurants:The Bar Diamonds, near the Hotel Navas. Best tapas and seafood.

Good things about accomodation:Santa Ana Apartements is really convenient for a stay in Granada. You are in the center ! You are 2mn from Plaza Nueva, 3 from Gran Via de Colon (The Main street) with local buses for anywhere in town)and 15 mn walk from Alhambra entrance.
Complaints about accomodation:No complaints. It's simply but operationaly furnished, and yes, you can move the bedtable, to get the 2 beds together...
Good bars and restaurants:Bib-rambla café, on the ditto square offers Sunday "brunch" (10h00 to 11h30) with Chocolate and churros ! Try this ! (As a matter of fact, you can have chocolate & churros everyday in the afternoon here !
Bad experiences in Granada:In summer, it's hot ! (41° C )But not an unpleasant wet heat. Granada is full of up & downs hills... Make sure you have the correct walking shoes, ladies ! ;-)
Suggestions:St Agustin covered market, just 5 mn walk from S.A.A is worth the visit if you decide to cook. It offers fresh meat, fish, veggies and delicious olives ! There are many fruits & vegetables shops next to it. If, like me, you left your car at Severo Occhoa car park (discount week ticket there), it will cost around 7 € to get to the car park by taxi (with luggage). If you walk to or from here to the apartement, it's a 20 mn walk, free and pleasant.
Granadainfo comments:7 euros is being overcharged. It ought to be 5 or 6. You can also get on the 31 minibus just next to the apartments then get off near the Triunfo gardens and then walk 200 metres to the car park. This also works in reverse.

Good things about accomodation:The location of the apartment is excellent and it was great to have Miguel there to welcome us and show us around the apartment. We loved the view of the Albaycin from the apartment as well as the liveliness of the street below.
Complaints about accomodation:No complaints at all. For a short visit the accommodation has all the facilities that a traveller is looking for.

Complaints about accomodation:1. We had one double bed (good) and one sofa-bed. The sofa-bed is about 1.80 mtr!! That is not comfortable when you and your partner are 1.85 mtr tall.
Good bars and restaurants:We were too short time there.

Good things about accomodation:the location of the santa apts is perfect. underneath the alhambra, in the heart of the old part of town, so easy to explore. the pleasant guitar music coming into the apt from the bar down below. next time we hope to be able to stay in the penthouse - the views will be fantastic.
Complaints about accomodation:one evening a stray cat had come into the complex & kept my husband awake with its wailing!
Bad experiences in Granada:a note: travelling from malaga bus station to granada. for your information tickets bought from the ticket office have the time of departure & your seat number printed on the bus ticket. (don't have to worry too much about queuing or worrying about seat alocation).
Suggestions:please try to speak the language instead of relying on the spanish people to know english. we arrived on the last day of the festival of the cross - the atmosphere was fantastic. try to coincide your visit with a festival! we found the tickets purchased online for the alhambra, buses, guided tours, city bus service great value for money & very easy to use.

Good things about accomodation:The staff at Santa Ana apartments were most helpful, they responded positively to our requests. The apartment was comfortable, clean and perfectly positioned. The tourist office staff at Santa Ana were most helpful. The public transport system was clean, efficient and easy to use and staff/drivers generally polite and helpful.
Complaints about accomodation:For long term residents (17 days) some more effective cleaning equipment would have been helpful as would have been a kettle for boiling water for making tea.
Good bars and restaurants:We were generally disappointed by the standard of restaurant cooking in Granada. The best we found was in the Paseo de los Tristes - the first modern restaurant on the corner ALFRAZAN (?)- restaurant was clean, cuisine was well presented and reasonably priced and service was professional.
Bad experiences in Granada:Yes. It seemed to be a Granada sport to attempt to short change visitors. This occurred regularly (at two restaurants, an ice cream kiosk, in a tourist shop in the Arab quarter, and including on the public buses (Route 4 - twice.)
Suggestions:The most disappointing element was the overwhelming impact of smoking on the enjoyment of the city of Granada. The relative shortage of smoke free areas, including in restaurants (and other public spaces) seriously detracts from the enjoyment of non smokers and those with children. The lack of discipline by dog owners makes the streets and laneways an obstacle course - detracting from their beauty and charm. Despite the many positive experiences in and around beautiful Granada, unfortnately these two factors mean we are unlikley to return or recommend that others visit.

Good things about accomodation:The location of the apartment was excellent - a lovely view and in easy walking distance of everything we wanted.
Complaints about accomodation:The kitchen was well equipped with large appliances but more pans and crockery would have been useful especially another saucepan and some mugs. Some basic ingredients - salt, sugar, pepper would have been good too. We had to buy more of these than we needed - we left them behind for the next people but don't know what your policy on clearing everything out is. Satellite television or a DVD player or broadband would move the accomodation into the excellent category.

Room or apartment: Santa Ana Atico - Penthouse (max. 5)
Good things about accomodation:We appreciated being in a Spanish city. Perhaps because it was November we did not feel part of the tourist treadmill. We attempted to fit in to local customs and lifestyle and enjoyed the difference. The meals were very good. It was the wrong time of the year to get the best out of the apartment. The sun set just as it warmed the patio.
Complaints about accomodation:Being vegetarian we usually cook our own meals on long (more than 4 days)stays. It would have been difficult with only one saucepan. Another, smaller pan, would have been useful. Matches would be useful for new arrivals. We had difficulty finding a supermarket, and then an open supermarket. There was all we needed up the Carrera del Darrio, just before Paseo del Padre Manjon, but too late to be of use.
Good bars and restaurants:An early morning at the Alhambra and a visit at night to follow. The Hammam Banos, only a few steps away, were a wonderful experience. We felt most at home and most welcome in the Tortuga an Elvira. Great atmosphere and great food.
Bad experiences in Granada:When we went to the Alhambra at night we attempted to catch a bus at El Banuelo, at 19.30, as we knew the bus routes. I ran to get on a bus that quickly arrived, which was a 34. I had not looked and so the driver said no when I asked for the Alhambra. A No. 32 was immediately behind and so we got on board and asked for the Alhambra. The driver, nodded, took the money and gave us tickets. The bus went round Albaycin and along Gran Via. At Gran Via 2 a lady asked for the Alhambra and he said yes and she paid for a ticket. At Cuesta de Gomares he stopped and indicated we should get off and that the Alhambra was just up the hill. I told him it was not but he insisted we leave the bus. The other lady who asked for the Alhambra was not asked to get off. He drove off up the hill towards the Alhambra. We caught a 30 soon after and met him coming back down the hill from the Alhambra. It was clear by the grin on his face as he drove off that he was taking advantage of tourists. This very annoying incident was in marked contrast to the kindness and help we met everywhere

Good things about accomodation:Perfect situation of apartment. Not for people with mobility problems.
Complaints about accomodation:Could do with a bit of sprucing up. Woodwork around wardrobe detached and some walls marked- just some paint required.
Good bars and restaurants:Restaurante Boabdil in Albaycin just off Plaza Nueva. Have been going there since 1993 and always great value and a happy atmosphere. La Belleza & La Bestia (Carrera del Darro) for tapas but pricy for spirits.
Suggestions:Watch out at Alhambra if you have a 1400-1800 ticket, as you will not be admitted to the grounds before 2 even if your entry to the palaces is for 2 pm. We wasted 2 hours because of this.

Good things about accomodation:Schöne, zentrale Lage, riesige Dachterrasse, große Küche, ausreichend Platz auch für 4 Personen.

Complaints about accomodation:We would have liked a kettle and teapot coffeepot. A clothes airer dryer to compliment the washing machine would be useful.
Suggestions:We would recommend anyone to visit Granada and also to stay in the Santa Ana Appartments. The Bono Turistico Granada is a good investment.

Good things about accomodation:- The private roofterrace of the penthouse apartment is great, with a marvelous view upon the Albaycin! - The penthouse apartment was clean, the shower worked good, and the kitchen was great and complete. Only too bad that there is not a big supermarket in the neighbourhood.
Complaints about accomodation:- The bed was ok, but a bit small and we would have prefered two 1 person beds instead of one 2 person bed (would also be better for visitors who are not a couple). - We had to walk quite a few stairs to get to the penthouse apartment (first a few to get to the building and then several to get to the upper apartment in the building itself). It's a bit of a pitty that there's no elevator in the building.
Bad experiences in Granada:- We've been looking for a supermarket in the neighbourhood for I don't know how long, but could only find a few small ones. Too bad cause we wanted to cook for ourselves but couldn't because of that.
Granadainfo comments:If you had asked there is an extra suplementary bed that you could have used if you didn't want to sleep together. Within 600 metres of the apartments there are many small shops especially around the caldererias area where you can buy very good quality halal meat. There is a fruit and vegetable market next to the cathedral. The nearest big supermarket is the Corte Ingles (about 800 metres away) which has an excellent fish counter. At granadainfo we have good local knowledge and if you want to know where somthing is just ask.

Good things about accomodation:The apartment was nice and clean. From the terraces you have a beautiful vieuw of the Albaycin quarter. The apartment is located in the city center, just 5 minutes from the Cathedral. Although there is no 24 hrs service we were welcomed really good by the staff.
Suggestions:If you arrive in Granada by car the best thing to do is to leave your car at a carpark outside the city center. From there you can take a taxi to the apartment. The taxi will cost more or less 5 euros. That way you avoid the busy traffic in Granada.

Good bars and restaurants:Don't miss visiting the Alambra, if you can, walk up, you will be rewarded with some stunning views of the city and some wonderful scenery.
Bad experiences in Granada:Only in one bar did we experience the staff trying to overcharge, look out when you receive your change there are many coins in circulation that can easily be mistaken for euros.

Good things about accomodation:The location, right in the centre of Granada. The Alhambra on our doorstep, adventures in the Albaicin just waiting outside the window. And the accommodation was comfortable, clean and absolutely perfect for our stay.
Good bars and restaurants:You MUST visit the Alhambra - but be sure to book your tickets online before you go - otherwise you\'ll have to queue from about 6am to get your tickets for the day - try to visit in the morning as well, especially in midsummer. Either climb (or bus) the hills of the Albaicin to Mirador Santa Nicolas to get the best view of Granada. Then on the way down, stop off at one of the Moorish tea shops for some mint tea.

Good things about accomodation:The Santa Ana Apartments were absolutely everything they promised to be. Stylish, immaculately kept and presented, with a huge terrace from which we could watch the white houses tumbling down the hills and the vibrant life of Granada roll by. We arrived a bit earlier than anticipated, but that was no problem for Jamie, one of our friendly hosts. The check-in was friendly, efficient and very professional. The apartment was exactly as represented on the internet and the gorgeous view from the deck surpassed our expectations - we had to keep pinching ourselves to believe we were in such a perfect location. Before my feedback sounds too good to be true, I'd like to add that we travel a lot and I'm very fussy about accommodation (particularly cleanliness and great service). Santa Ana certainly didn\'t disappoint and deserves to be congratulated. The apartment was air-conditioned, which was a welcome relief during siesta time and although there was about five apartments, we didn't hear noise coming through from any other guests at all. The people of Granada were very welcoming and the city itself is incredibly interesting and beautiful. We made the choice to stay there because we wanted to avoid the super crowded, boozy party atmosphere of some of the more coastal towns. The good news is, the Med is only an hour away by air-condtioned bus (and only about 6 Euro one way), so if you want to go for a day trip and a swim, it's very accessible. Of course, the Alhambra is extraordinary and we would definitely recommend buying your tickets online in advance (we did it two days beforehand) as otherwise the queues are VERY long and you will be VERY hot before you get in! The local information and accommodation service provided by Granadainfo.com was also thorough, efficient and excellent. The speed with which they answered our queries and the local knowledge they offered when we were deciding where to stay made us feel confident we were booking the right venue for our second honeymoon. We would stay in Granada and Santa Ana Apartments again (immediately if we could!) and heartily recommend the experience to any traveller.
Complaints about accomodation:We have absolutely no complaints about our accommodation at Santa Ana apartments. However we do have a couple of suggestions for small improvesments. There weren\'t any tea-towels to dry our dishes with. Although this is often standard for self catering apartments, as international travellers it would have been helpful. Also a drying rack for our clothes after washing would have been great.
Suggestions:Our New Zealand credit cards didn't work at the local SPAR. Our cards worked everywhere else in Granada and the SPAR accepts international credit cards so we couldn\'t quite work out why. Certainly not a big problem - but might be an idea for any non EU traveller to make sure they have cash on them....or be prepared to run up the road and get some out!

Good things about accomodation:The accommodation was excellent, and the location superb.
Good bars and restaurants:We didn\'t actually eat in any restaurants as it was too hot to eat a meal. We did have some wonderful tapas though, and ate plenty of them! The \'Gran Taverna\' in Plaza Nueva was a really friendly bar, with great tapas and locals. We also enjoyed \'El Fuente\' in Paseo de los Tristes, watching the sun go down on the Alhambra with a plate of calamares fritos and a cold beer - excellent. I would recommend anyone to also venture out of the central \'tourist\' area and visit the local bars. \'La Reca\' in Plaza Trinidad another good one, and the terraces in Campo del Principe - too many to mention!
Suggestions:We used the supermarket in El Corte Ingles. It may be slightly more pricey than the smaller ones, but you can get everything, and we never found it busy. We also found some wonderful white Rioja for less then 3 Euros!

Good things about accomodation:The advantage of renting an apartment that it is more peaceful and familiar than a hotel. Calle Santa Ana is a central but calm place. The staff was not always there, but when we called them, they appeared immediately.
Complaints about accomodation:Everything is really fine! Only one thing I could offer, to estblish a better airation in the bathroom.
Good bars and restaurants:If you want to "feel" Granada, take a walk to any direction in the old town. Anywhere you go, you will find smaller or larger squares, gardens, orange trees, fountains, palm-trees, beautiful mediterranean houses and a lot of bars full of people. They never run, never be angry, never be stressed. If you speak Spanish a little, they will love it, I promise! ;) Our favourite bar was Central café at the corner of Plaza Nueva and Calle Elvira. Of course, the Alhambra and its gardens must be visited, it is wonderful. Also I can offer the Mirador in the top of the Albaicín.
Bad experiences in Granada:There was a very small supermarket in "Calle Santa Escolástica" where we have not found any prices written on the shelves. That was the place we have payed too much. But nothing else...
