Granada airport info:
The airport is located about 17 km outside the city of Granada. The airport code is GRX. It takes about 30 minutes by road from the center of Granada. See this page for more information
Airport transfer:
In a transfer someone comes to the airport to pick you up and meets you when you come off the plane and then takes you to your accommodation. There are two methods we recommend. 1. For a five euro arrangement fee Sarah from Granadainfo will organise any taxi journey for you. An airport pickup would cost 25 euros to most places in the centre of Granada you can even get a 7 seater.
You can be picked up by a regular official Granada taxi. Click here . - 2. We haven't tried it but this company offer Airport transfers to hotels with private chauffer 35 euros (max 3 people per car) Click here
Airport bus:
There is a frequent airport bus service and the buses tie in with the arrivals. The bus costs 3 euros and there are several stops in the centre of Granada. The most central stop is the stop on the Gran Vía next to the Cathedral. If you are going to Plaza Nueva, it's a good idea to get off at this stop.

Taxi:
If you don't want to walk through the streets with your luggage you can get a taxi which costs approx 30 euros. There is supposedly a fixed taxi fare for taxis from the airport to the city centre (26-28€ for the centre of Granada, and 30-32€ for the Albaicín) so it's a good idea to ask how much it will cost before getting in the taxi. The taxi driver should not use the taximeter. This page has more advice about getting taxis from the airport. This taxi booking service charges 5 euros to book you a taxi to or from Granada airport for 30 euros.
Internal flights within Spain:
Cheap airlines such as vueling have driven the prices down so there are now many bargain flights to other Spanish cities such as Barcelona and Madrid. A good site to search for them is SKYSCANNER.
(Tip: When there is a flight from outside Spain with a connecting flight from Madrid/Barcelona to Granada they invariably don't coordinate the luggage properly and it has to be delivered to you the next day. So put some extra underwear and essentials in your hand luggage.)
